Moving your base + pier location

Hi there,
I'm playing in VH and I believe I have now the resources to consider building a ship. Food and water are at last not an issue anymore.
I initially set up my base in the small temple in the jungle, the one with the stone chest. I'm considering moving to a beach, for the ship (doh!!). But which one? Initial shipwreck site or the little cove/bay on the other side of the isle.
Some suggestions if you please?

I personally use the cove as it has plenty of natural resources around, and is just a hop skip and a jump from both the rain wells on the island. However, since you eventually develop the ability to get around the island easily with higher athletics and such, you can build a base anywhere and it would still be viable, especially since a built dock functions as a ship based fast-travel.

Huuu fast travel... ok! I'll set up to the cove, it is rather close to my temple base of operation.

Fast travel is not free in this game though, using it does still take some time and damage your ship a bit. Not sure if it is equivalent to the damage done by just plain sailing though.
