Fresh Hide

Hi, how and where do you find fresh hide in Bird Island. Neded to build the first boat, boar and jackal skins doesn't work.

It should work, just make sure it is treated in the Tanner Workbench, it has to be processed hide, not fresh :)

1st get fresh hide > take ur fresh hide to ur tanning bench & make processed hide > put the processed hide in the big drying rack (the one for skins)

Simple guide, but that won't work for OP since the recipe clearly states that it needs processed hide only, dried hide won't work for the raft :)

Fresh hide comes from most animals. For instance, if you kill a boar you get a boar hide AND fresh hide, this can be processed via the tanning bench

No one should waste the resources for the raft's & go straight to the canoe.
Much faster more stable in bad weather & much more HP for a little more effort.

I have to disagree there because not everyone will have the canoe unlocked when they need a vessel, also 2 cheap upgrades to the raft and you have a logholder which isn't possible on the canoe, however for travelling to the Buffalo region and all small trips later on, I completely agree with the canoe, but in the early days the raft can make a huge difference, it definitely has its place :)

Definitely recommend getting both. The canoe for exploration and travel, the raft for the log holder.
