Dismantling an old ship for parts

Why, having built a catamaran, is it not possible to dismantle an old canoe for parts, the construction and improvement of which spent resources? Let at least some of the resources return. It will be the same with the catamaran when the ship is built and so on.

I like this idea, but fully intend to keep all my boats on display at my main base! ;-)

I forgot to add that the number of resources returned should depend, of course, on the current state of the ship. So that it would not be possible to abuse the construction of a whole ship by disassembling and assembling the old one.

Everything is very simple. The developers simply forgot to add this option to boats and carts. They promised to fix it. Carts can already be disassembled, I hope that boats will be available in the next update.

I agree, but I found it easier to not be able to cause its easier to upgrade from ship to ship

And how can you upgrade a raft to a canoe or from a canoe to a catamaran, and even more so to a caravel, if this is a completely different class of ships, with different shapes, structures and requiring different resources?

so I learned the upgrade system from this thread and just tried it. I think i upgraded from one class of ship to the next with a limited amount of resources, opposed to having to gather all the resources as if I were building from scratch, but I THINK I only have did that with two ships and I may be wrong! You may have to start from scratch when upgrading from one class of ship to the next. I already unlocked the last ship and upgraded to the last tier, so I cant try.
