Is there some option to skip the text?
The text is annoying, way too wordy, meta, obvious and hand-holdy and the quirkyness and translation, which never goes above serviceable, make me roll my eyes (currently playing the demo). Is there a skip button for these dialogue sequences?

Update: Apparently the game is not only written like it was made for preschoolers, it also recently replaced its anti-cheat DRM (Denuvo) with some new crap, that apparently makes it unable to function on Steam Deck, and even has been reported to brick some systems outright. Pathetic that this has 98% positive reviews. Adding invasive anti-cheat to a Singleplayer game is truly a big brain moment.

If you enjoy obvious dialogue, where characters keep unrealistically (and irritatingly) repeating themselves and with characters randomly (not very cleverly) breaking the fourth wall and telling you exactly what to do, then more power to you.
I, however, expect a little more out of my writing.

The game only does that to help you when you fail to many times, Have you tried being better at playing computer games?

It does not. Something happens on screen, then the characters describe it, as if I didn't just see it, and then they blabber on and on. "Hmmm... You should try pressing L1 to ghost trick" - "Hmmm, yes yes, L1 to ghost trick. I should do that."

"What are those superpowers?" "You mean the ghost trick?" (Proceeds to explain everything the player already knows, like a Dora The Explorer episode).

And the rest of the dialogue, outside of the various tutorials and mission beginning hints, is exhaustingly lazy and along the same vein of what I wrote above.

you can fast forward text by holding B on your controller (or "cancel" on whatever input device you are using..."

I apologize for my antagonistic attitude, I've been having a rough time as of recent.

it's all good man, I hope things will be better for you and try to enjoy the game. If it's just not for you, I can suggest you Chants of Sennaar or The Case of the Golden Idol!
