Trial Version Music Unlock

I didn't play the demo because I didn't see the need, then I saw that there's music that's "locked" behind playing the trial version. Will this unlock normally through in-game progress? I can't exactly play the trial now that I own the game.

Nope. Installing the demo (when game is already uninstalled) just installs the full game again.

Can you create a new Steam-Account to download the demo? You can access everything that is installed on the same PC with your main account; I believe...

You should actually be OK. From the announcement regarding the demo:

Get in-game backgrounds and music tracks early in the demo version!

2 game screen backgrounds:
-Sissel
-Town

1 BGM tracks:
-GHOST TRICK

Note: Bonuses for playing the demo version of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective can be claimed in the full release version.
Note: You can claim demo version bonuses even after progressing in the full release version.
Note: If you have deleted your Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Demo saved data, you will be unable to claim the bonuses.

Cool, I was hoping it'd be a matter of progression. Now to just find time to play!

I'm in the same boat I didn't play the demo I just finished Chapter 2 in the full release game then I saw the extra content for playing the demo and it is still locked for me. I don't know how to get it now.

Can confirm I was able to download the demo using this method.

What I did:

Use Windows + R to open the "run" command:
Type "steam://open/console" without the quotation marks of course.
In the newly opened Steam console, type "app_install 1971230", demo started download.

I have not played the demo yet, but it should unlock the music.

Edit: successfully unlocked the "Ghost Trick" BGM and 2 backgrounds using the demo. Simply launch the demo once, it will say "no savefile found, creating new savefile". Afterwards, you can simply quit the demo without actually playing it.

It worked! Thank you all. I'm sure capcom will patch this, but it's still nice!
