Currently announced features:

* Game will launch this July 27th

* Marian is playable and fights using military weaponry and projectiles
* Uncle Matin is a new character that appears to fill the strong, grappler archetype role
* Uncle Matin shares the name of the garage that Billy and Jimmy emerge from at the start of previous Double Dragon games so is possibly it's owner

* Developed by Secret Base, the studio behind Streets of Red: Devil's Dare Deluxe
* Endless playthrough possibilities are made a reality with the game’s dynamic mission select function—the order in which you choose your mission will affect the mission length, number of enemies, and overall difficulty.
* Players choose between missions housed within city sectors, pursuing the leaders of four deadly gangs across unique stages packed with melee weapons, dangerously devoted members and varied environments perfect for all-out fights.
* Cash is earned by using a Special KO on opponents
* Health boosts are earned by performing Crowd Control moves, which are special KOs that knock out multiple enemies at once.
* Experiment with different duos, pursue alternate builds for your fighters through upgrades, and change the order in which they challenge the city’s sinister gang leaders.
* You spend cash earned at the end of each stage to unlock upgrades for your chosen characters, or save them up.
* If you die, you can spend remaining cash on tokens that permanently unlock extra characters and bonuses in-between sessions. Or, you can buy a continue with your token to keep the run going.
* There will be unlockable bonuses, adjustable difficulty levels, optional permadeath, and infinite modes,
* Online co-op will be released as a post-release patch later this year

I don't understand why people are so scared of the roguelite elements, it's "lite" for a reason.
From what I could gather, you can pretty much make your own game if you like to, there might be that sense of pattern people like if they want to play in a certain way only. No wonder Sifu for example is well spoken often.
It looks like this point will actually enhance the game's combat and mechanics instead of being a defining feature, after all, it's still a beat'em up at its core, so to me if the combat is not engaging and there aren't much chains and combinations to do, that's what's a dealbreaker for me.

Well I feel that people are entitled to their opinions. Personally I'm not a fan of the art direction and was hoping for characters with realistic proportions but I'm assuming that that was decision that was made with time and budget in mind. I had similar feelings towards Fight 'N Rage but that was awesome.

Barring them releasing a mess like that Xbox 360 DD2 remake, Wander of Dragons then hopefully we'll be OK.

Anyway as long as the game plays well then that's what matters to me. Looking forward to the release in summer.

Not a fan of the graphics either (they also look a bit inconsistent too), but not only they look like they work well for what it offers, but anything after DD4 is an improvement by nature too. And you're right, if the game plays well that's what counts the most.
And yes, people are entitled to their opinions, I'm not fond of roguelite/like games, but I don't have anything against either. I'll just find sad if the game ends up having an engaging combat, and someone pass it because of the roguelite elements. Unfortunately it's something that can happen, and that's okay since we have different standards and such.
Looking forward not only to the release, but with more info as well, game looks real promising! I just hope they don't rush it :d

Yeah we don't want another Jedi Survivor fiasco.

I'm happy that online co-op is planned too even if it won't be ready for launch. I was worried that they wouldn't bother.

Oooooh interesting! Hope it goes well, but I'm still a bit skeptical regarding how River City Girls 2 went regarding online... But at least they'll update the game instead of rushing it at launch like the other game did, apparently.
Best for them to take their time, especially if they're close to release here

I haven't followed RCG2 for a while. Is RCG2 still running at 30 fps? Is the netcode still terrible or has it been fixed?

Overall I tend to like WF games but their post-launch support is terrible or non-existent so pray that it launches with as minimal bugs as possible because chances are that they won't be fixed.

Yesterday we had some support on the forums, but nothing besides "we're working on it" and "when we think it's over there's another problem that arises", which probably means the game it's still in development instead of finished but in need of small tweaks.
Considering they took 9 months to update Shantae 5's long loadings on PC, no wonder they're taking long with RCG2 as well, not to mention how they're still treating their games too if we take ArrowFell and Advance Wars Remake into account
Here's hoping Modus won't take this route, the game looks promising from its reveal

Damn, that's nice, way earlier than expected
Any new footage or trailer in the meanwhile?

Here is the release date trailer but I am unsure if there is any new footage.

Saw it right now, but thanks either way!
And yeah, there doesn't seem to have anything new in this trailer, which is a letdown honestly :/
Either way, I'm looking forward to it, hope that they already have the game already done proper if they managed to announce it close to release

Agreed. Extremely lazy to have this trailer be virtually identical to the first. They should have just waited a month and made this the announcement and release date trailer.
