Salvo knife - any advice?
Having a bit of a tough time with salvo knife on D15. Are there any good synergies or mechanics I'm missing?

Movement Speed and Summon Build. Better use Dasher with this weapon... Build full movement speed and damage, do not use the runes that increase fire rate or infinite ammo.
And don't forget the Ricochet Perk, it helps a lot.

Yuki (personal pick, other characters will work just fine) with elemental runes for pierce, then build movespeed (faster locks), damage, ice, pierce (important later), curse.... Only bother to take Reload so you can get the damage boost since you'll be reloading alot. (Ammo and Fire Rate don't really matter as you aren't really holding the button down to care about it. Also the damn thing reloads fast.)

Treat Double Shot tree as a damage boost. You will not be getting any AoE benefits from it due to the nature of the weapon.

When you hit 20 you'll see a fun perk that converts pierce into bounce. Pick it and you'll have screen clearing power... The only downside is you'll be chasing XP down.

As for other perks and stuff, really pick whatever.

EDIT: Also the lock rate is based on your current movespeed. By that I mean: You have to be moving to get locks, and the faster you are moving the faster you get locks.

Been using Dasher with daggers and the weapon just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. Having to wait for lock on or have to wait for the next shot to occur. Hm yeah, garbage.

getting the upgrade that lets you shoot projectiles behind you is kind of essential. the upgrade doesn't shoot in the opposite direction of where you're shooting, but the opposite direction of your cursor. the main problem with the weapon is having to wait for a lock on on a boss to start doing damage: now you can just get a full lock, aim away from the boss, and if you're precise all the knives will hit it.

This actually broke the lock-on for me when I took it and made the weapon almost worthless. They were not hitting the things that I locked on to after taking this upgrade.

Yeah, the weapon is garbage. It's fun early game, but once you hit the horse boss, they're worthless and can't even kill normal mobs anymore. Definitely needs some sort of damage scaling that isn't tied to the level 20 evolution, because this weapon is just awful mid-late game.

I did a standard elemental build with the bounce evolution. I'd say key things are to not feel like you need to wait to get the full 12 lock-ons, don't be afraid to just spam when you need to. Also, for the lock-on mechanic the closest enemy will get selected first, so when you want to target a specific enemy you can hug them.

I actually did this achievement on the first try. I picked Shana and focused on bullet damage. I also noticed that with extra projectiles, you get a lot of "shotgun" damage which helps immensely. I maxed out the movement speed, the dodge tree and maybe aero (cause it has movement speed aswell) and picked the movement speed weapon evolution (although all 3 looked cool). The second, third and fourth bosses took a looooooong time, but the moment I hit level 20, the knives started doing ~200 damage each. Since I had a lot of speed, the locking on was almost instant, so I just stutterstepped around picking up orbs. The last 3 bosses (and especially the last one) died in less than 5 seconds. I also was unlucky with the chest perk order, cuz I got the bonus exp one last (by that point, it doesn't really matter) and the halo upgrades wouldn't show up, until after I reached 20. Hope this helps.

Yeah, Movespeed+Dodge+Aero with the evolution that scales off of movespeed seems like the way to go

I discovered soemthing really busted just right now. I got 3 achievements in 3 games pretty much doing the same thing. Runes don't matter, but on the right tree take all left ones and all the summons on the left collumn.

You go for lilith - the one with ghosts is lilith I think. They added something really busted for summons. Every summon explodes every 2 seconds so from minute 10 onwards u pretty much don't have to use any guns. Occassinally for bosses. You play it like vampire survivors. Drgaon ASAP and any summons u can. I often add lightning or freeze to have some ♥♥♥♥ for the first 10 minutes, especially that dog boss is trash. But if you get to 2 ghosts from a kill and you improve your summons to explode every 2 seconds. d15 is easy af.

Another strong strategy is standard ele build with the chick that shoots fire. I go for lightning first and then get 3x more bullets on the first boss. (lightning at some points has a chance to restore 3 bullets so u fire all the time). Here CURSE/FIRE/COLD are crucial af. You need to output tons of aoe.

I used Shana, because I was aiming to get the Kunoichi synergy (In the wind + Assassin) as fast as possible, because this weapon becomes a map clear per click with infinite pierce; also because you gain almost max movement speed going up this tree you can target all enemies on the map instantly.

Edit: I forgot to say I beat temple on darkness 15 with this setup
Runes: Power, Aftershock, Glass Cannon, Cadence, Courage, Momentum, Blessing, Growth

blackholes + move speed + pierce + damage + thousand knives is how i did it

Just used Hina with it. She has the most synergy with the weapon in terms of raw damage output.

Hina's dash counts as movespeed for purpose of quickly locking (and damage for anything that utilizes mobility for damage). Combined with her reload-on-dash perk she can instantly lock 7-10 enemies during her dash every dash (with pierce-to-bounce is essentially a screen clear). She also gets invincibility frames while doing so you can freely use it as a mobility tool once you feel comfy.

With enough movespeed she can even push herself through walls with dash.

I also noticed that the pierce-to-bounce conversion for knives applies to ALL projectiles that can pierce, so the gale tornadoes will be bouncing instead of piercing.

I used Scarlett, "piercing turns into bounce" evo works with her fire waves and it looks kinda fun.
Other then that if feels like there is a lot of anti-synergy with salvo knife, which feels bad, you track closest enemies which also can die from summons before you shoot

Using Abby you completely remove the weapons limitation only being able to shoot while moving, +999 weapons upgrade guarantees you shooting for minutes, with enough fire rate you can then choose whatever you like. Additionally with the weird auto firing bug you also shoot while the ability of Abby is active.
