Some of the weapon evolutions are kinda random
I haven't seen them all yet but, to start with I love the shotgun all 3 mods change the weapon in varied and interesting ways but the SMG is just 1 of 3 elemental effects that happen after x shots and it didn't really change how I played at all and didn't really feel like an upgrade of the gun. The other few I saw were much the same they didn't really change anything, personally I'd like it if there was 1 that was basically the exact same but better and the other 2 changed how the gun works and you'd have to play a little different, again like how the shotgun does.
With the shotgun you get dual wield which stays the same but you fire another shotgun backwards (simple yet effective), there's a slug type modifier which gets rid of all of your projectiles for a single large shot which is an interesting and logical modifier for a shotgun, and then a "melee" mod that makes it hit really hard but massively reduces the range making you have to play a little riskier.

Perhaps it was just my expectations but I thought since the SMG is like the alot of bullets rapid fire type weapon there'd be like a higher firerate/minigun mod that made it do less damage at rapid fire and more spread for example instead it was magic, I know one of the things with the gun is that it triggers effects more often since each shot is 2 but having all 3 evolutions just be more magic and not more gun was pretty disappointing.

Maybe all the other weapons I tried were the least interesting evolutions or something but so far the shotgun is the gold standard for them imo and I think it would be cool if all the others had similarly interesting variations
