I did try to load the tutorial before starting a new game and it did the same thing. Stuck at loading screen with only the ambient sounds.
When I got into the attic via New game or Load game, I noticed the green loading indicator not moving and alt tabbed then went back to the game screen and the indicator started moving and loaded me in to the attic, but if I do the same for the tutorial or when leaving the attic the game will not respond and crash.
Yeah now that I tried it some more when the game 'loads' the loading screen is still there but I can hear my character jump and move around. It's like an image of the loading screen is stuck there, when I press escape the mouse appears and when I click around near the middle left I can change the background music even. Weird.
Most probably a bug, hope the stuff we've pointed out can help the dev out.
I had the same issue months ago when I last tried the demo. A shame since I'd really like to give the game a go.
To be clear here's how you do it:
1. Right-click on the game on your library and go to properties
2. Under the General tab you'll see the launch options.
3. On the text box put in "--rendering-driver opengl3" without the quotation marks.
4. Close the window and then run the game.
Seems like something to do with non-vulkan GPUs or something. Managed to get the game to run but now the graphics are a bit wonky.
