They were and still are a work in progress. The dev will most definitely focus on the visual aspects alongside with other stuff that was present in the unity version after this release.
There is no point in pushing out a massive update with new content that wasn't there before if the port is not of quality and the people do not like it.
After all. This is still a DEMO
This specific Demo is still just a proof of Concept for the Engine switch. The Screenshots aren't misleading because (except of some Shaders / Color corrections) it's exactly the same.
The Trailers / Screenshots are for Demo 2. Demo 2 was already ready but a few Days before Release Unity did what Unity did. Everything you see there will be back in Demo 2.
TDB never had Free Demos or Betatests. They advertised a Game that was never going to happen and sold it to a huge Audience without any Player Feedback. You Guys should be careful what you call TDB because Antti is one of the most / if not the most transparent developer. You can check every Step he is doing and really nobody can do anything for you if you waste your Data without checking out the Development. Google would saved you a lot.
ever heard of Tech Demos? One google Search would show you that the Game is still very early in Development and that this Demo is just a proof of Concept.
yes and no. Engines are still just a Toolbox. What do you think is going to happen? It is still the same Artstyle. Once the SINGLE Dev have enough time to tweak some Settings it will almost look identical. Saying that one Engine can't look like another proofs that you have no clue about Game Development. Everything Unity can do is also possible in every other Engine, you just have to create the Tool yourself.
Dev portet the Demo in 3 Months all alone, how excatly should there be time to code Costum Shader Plugins? ofc the Game will look a little bit different but not as much to make a big 1GB Drama.
Don't know where are you coming from but in most countrys we also have unlimited Internet Sim-Cards for Mobile too.
Also I am working on a remote village. I don't have cable internet. So brave of you for making fun of me by calling it "1gb drama" wow :) You dont know what people go through and how hard life could get sometimes.
I'm telling you that you didn't read correctly
I didn't mean to put you down. I'm sorry if it seems that way to you. I am sure that your situation is not easy right now. I just wanted to make it clear to you that the developer is a single person who has made a complete port in 3 months and with this tight schedule it can happen that the demo does not correspond to the pictures. The fact that what you see in the pictures and videos is currently not the case is mainly Unity's fault. I just think that it is currently more important to bring the demo up to the level of the pictures than to bring the pictures up to the level of the demo. Your current situation, which will hopefully change soon, is rather unusual these days. I'm sorry if the demo disappointed you, I hope when your situation improves and the game is a bit more developed you'll give it another chance.
Obviously a demo is not the full game, and is NEVER representative of the full game. It's a proof of concept, but some demos have way more content than others. If you're going to randomly complain about how bad you have it, you must not have it that bad if you have any internet access and time to waste complaining on the internet. If your internet is that precious don't waste it downloading games. You're either a moron, a child, a troll, or a combination of these. Grow up, seriously. I have no sympathy for people like you.
