Wait, do people seriously eat Tomato Paste on its own?
I love this game, but one thing continues to throw me which I'm not sure whether it's a matter of the game being by a dev team who isn't necessarily familiar with how certain foreign cuisine is served, if the characters are just supposed to have quirky taste, or if I'm just a culturally ignorant American.

Why are certain condiments prepared and served as full meals? Seriously, unless I mistaken or it's just something that I'm culturally unfamiliar with, people don't just eat condiments like Tomato Paste or Caramel sauce alone, they're used strictly as additional ingredients or topping to enhance or compliment the flavor of an existing dish, yet in Cuisineer you have recipes for various condiments which are ordered, prepared, and served all by themselves.

So what's going on here? Why are condiments served as meals? Are the developers simply unfamiliar with how these condiments are typically served? Are the in-game creatures just supposed to be sort of like animals in the way that they're not particular about what they eat as long as it tastes good? Am I just an ignorant American who isn't aware of the fact that in other countries people enjoys bowls of Tomato Paste as meals?

I have a feeling you originally needed to use things like tomato paste to cook some of the higher tier dishes, but it got took out for whatever reason.

I eat mixed spices for breakfast

They also apparently just drink straight caramel.

The mixed spices I kind of squinted at, but I didn't utter a "No. That's not a thing," until I had multiple customers happily eating straight tomato paste. I'm concerned for them...

It would be better if you can make a prepared ingredient counter that customers can have a chance to walk up to and buy from directly after you stock it manully.

That's a pretty cool idea. A possible source of extra income if a customer liked a meal and wanted a condiment that paired well with it (resulting in a bigger tip), or maybe a chance to land a sale even if there were no free tables.

Love both idea

Would be fun and more challenging if customers could order more than one recipe, meal+condiment or meal+drink or meal+dessert

Yeah this, and the ability to sell off your other stuff like leftovers, armor, and resources you aren't using.

You mean to tell me that it's not perfectly normal to just walk into a restaurant and order a huge bowl of melted cheese?:steamhappy:

Another simple solution would be to simply have it that every table had sliced bread or rolls in a basket like many dine-in restaurants do, at least then one could conclude that the customers are simply having it with paired with whatever was already set out at the table.

Nah, I get this one. We can let this one slide.

I mean... Can we do that though? I know other countries serve big slabs of melted cheese and I'd like to sign up for that in the states
