Loot respawn?
Kind of confused on how this ACTUALLY works. I have my year set to 80 days and Loot Respawn set to 20 days. So my questions are:

1 - Does the loot respawn globally every 20 days or 20 days from last visit to an area or container opening?
2 - Do the container contents get over-written/replaced or does new loot just get added to said container?
3 - Are ground spawns (stuff just lying around on the floor/ground) included in the loot respawn conditions?

Currently on day 34 and my previously cleared areas do not seem to be respawning loot in containers or ground spawns.

1- iirc its the latter and could be tested by going back to an area you looted pre day 14?
2- again, not sure but i think it it refills the loot container and doesn't overwrite anything thats in there, if you find loot you might want later, put it into the bottom right corner as it starts the refill from top left.
3- static spawns (loot on ground) dont seem to respawn but wont despawn like any dropped loot will
i,ll pass this on to the guys on discord and get them to post with more info.

to number 1 i only noticed loot being reset when after opened since rotten food etc doesnt swap possibly adds some small % based on its available space (no idea for sure) number 2 ik items do get replaced fully cuz i lost items this way but some times items didnt sooooooo assume they do so make your own containers or drop stuff on the floor and for 3 items on floor shouldnt despawn that ik of? but this is old info and prob do now test with a trash item and see if still there after like 30 days
also its 20 days after container was opened i believe alsooooooooooo it only has a % to give new items so realistically will take 40 or 80 days to actaully put stuff in all containers sinces its like gambling on loot % drops

There is on area I cleared before day 20 but not certain of the actual day, so I'm waiting til day 40 to check it again.

I leave random stuff in containers all the time. Will have to remember to just stick it in bottom right.

Well, that's a bummer. Ground spawns are usually my best bet for Industrial Batteries. Yes, they are drained of power, but they are found in perfect condition.

Copy/Pasted from Discord:

Every loot container has a "loot table" of items that may spawn in that container. When generating loot the game randomly selects whether each item will spawn or not. It is possible that no items will be selected to be spawned in a loot cycle. Once an item has been selected to spawn, the loot distribution setting is used to determine how much of each item is spawned. Setting your loot distribution to Abundant does not increase the chance that there will be more containers with loot in them - it increases the amount of an item if it is chosen to spawn.

The loot in an area does not get spawned until a player enters that area. Loot is spawned in a radius of about 128 metres around the player. An upside of this is that you don't seem to loot spoiled food now

Loot respawn is now based on the time since you last triggered a loot spawn in that container compared to your loot respawn timer rather than just your loot respawn timer. So, before, if you looted an area on day 4 and your timer was set to 5 days, it would respawn on day 5 and then on 10 and then 15 etc. Now when you (or someone else) go back to a looted area the game checks the time that has elapsed since loot was last spawned. If it is greater than your timer, you get a respawn. If it is less you don't. In the example from before you would have to go back on day 9 or later for a respawn.

If it has been multiple periods of your timer since you last triggered a spawn of the loot container the loot only respawns once. So, if you have a 5 day timer and go back after 21 days, you get one respawn rather than 4.

The game remembers loot left in the area when you last triggered a spawn. So, if you left two toolboxes behind because you didn't have room for them, they will still be in the container together with any new loot that gets spawned (provided you have passed your respawn timer).

Areas that have not had their initial loot spawn will only get their initial loot spawn when you go into the area and they will not get the benefit of respawns that may have occurred during the time you have played before you visit the area.
