no items after dying?
So when you die you start over completely naked and in boxers or a bra and panties? Is this the devs way of saying you got screwed? COmpletely stupid and should not happen

You drop all items on death. It's a pretty standard thing in many games, going back for years.

Remember where you died, and run back. Your stuff will be a little grave marker with a cross on it. There is a time limit on those though. If you're planning to enter somewhere dangerous, it's a good idea to put down a bedroll, and set that as your re-spawn point first. I do that repeatedly when entering cities, the abandoned military base, mine tunnels, etc. If I die, I am seconds away from where my body is. I have backup weapons/ammo in either a handcart or a car's trunk nearby, in case I need to fight my way back to the body.

Why drop your clothes also? Like you should not be completely naked except for boxers or bra and panties for a lady. This is totally stupid, most games do not strip you of your clothes unless it is rust.

I can think of a number of game where you lose your items and clothing and come back as you are when you start the game if you die. As william_es said, it's a pretty common thing. It's also how you start the game if you don't have the starter kit enabled

Nobody is worried about items as i said, but losing your clothes? This is dumb as you start with them and do not need to find them.

You don't start with clothes unless you enable the starter kit. I guess the logic here is that you have had the benefit of the starter kit when you began the save but you don't keep getting it over and over when you die

Drop all items on death is a VERY common feature in a lot of games. Hundreds of them. Have you only recently started playing computer games?

BE GLAD it's Not Perma-Death ..... When you start with nothing .. Not even a grave or bag to run back to.

okay, but why then the title is "no items"? Just saying.

The cloth thing is a real problem if you die in winter. And even if i dont like how you communicate this, so i think too we should keep the clothes. it would be better to have...mhh the vest or armor as an extra slot - so you will loose your Armor, weapons backpack etc. (To loose your things is okay and should be just like this) but not instantly dehydrate or freeze to ice if you die - i do i agree on that.

It's not that different to valheim. I used to always make sure i had a spare set of armour and weapons at my spawn point so I could equip them when i respawned in my base so that I could make the run back to my grave. The main difference here is you only have 45 mins real time to get back to your grave but you can cover a lot of ground in that time if you have stored gear and weapons.

and yes i used the term 'items' to refer to weapons, equipment and clothing
Darren Jan 20, 2024 @ 4:58pm
I do this in most games just for the case...yeah. But how i said, it would be better if you not have to for the clothing, because of the season-Thing. In the worst case your spawn point is not near your spare sets/Base. If you cant reach your deathpoint in time, maybe because it is in a big poi/city and it despawns, or you cant just handle that much zombies, or you just cant find it (Without Deathmarker) - it could be a fast rage quit for some People.

If you have the choice to let it be and go back it would be better.

Has anyone tried taking a look in the configs for the game, to see if there's some setting with a flag? Drop items on death on or off.

i would say that when you first start the game you have been thrown out of the bunker with either nothing or the starter kit but when you die, how would your clothes respawn with you?
like most games, the key is to be very very careful as ive only died when making silly mistakes or misjudging the danger i was in (nah, i'll just loot this shop then build a bed....lol)
and be especially extra careful in winter when its easy to freeze to death when running back.

yes i would like to see a death marker on map and also like all things, make how you die an option so if people want to die and spawn with everything on them they can, or if you dont you can turn it off? much like perma death which it isn't as you just forget your skills lol

So the Thing with that is, if you die, you're dead mh? I prefer to look at this situation more like, i dont know, you're hard beaten, heavy injured but still alive somehow, because, yeah first sentence. You wouldn't respawn as a person too, but thats a game isnt it? it should be okay to spawn with your basic clothes. The Rest is ripped off or you had to leave behind stuff to get away or so.
