It will show all the buildings that can have them.
2 Story houses are a pretty good source. Especially a type of house that has missing kitchen patio doors (they're not just open, they're completely missing on the back side of the house. The upstairs rooms have desks which are great source of schematics.
The small town in the southwest corner of C6 has one of these house right in the middle of it, and across the river in bottom south east corner of C5 there's another. Once you know what they look like, they're all over the place.
Just a general heads up, trying to go up the stairs next to the front door, has a very high chance of setting off an alarm. I just run up the stairs, down the hallway, and wait in one of the rooms at the end if the alarm goes off. Half the time the zombies can't even path upstairs, sometimes they pour up the stairs in a conga line.
