So far I have the control building, canteen, and I'm building the recreation center. 2 quarries, 1 log cabin. My base is a 5 X 4 two story stone structure, with a greenhouse on top of the flat roof, and a solar panel. And I have a ton of stone foundations to level off the terrain, along with some walls for defensive purpose around the outer edge. I kind of stupidly built on a slope next to a river, so I have had to build terraces to have enough flat terrain. Too late to move everything now.
Now I'm worried I'm going to run out of build limit. Why have all the toys if you we can't build at least 1 of everything? If I do hit a build limit, I'll probably laugh about it and just stop playing. Building the base is the only reason I'm grinding away in the game.
That is UTTERLY ridiculous. So only the first person to start gathering NPC's can benefit? The warehouse tab of the control center is where you collect the resources from the NPC's.
That's just goofy.
I'm no programmer, but to me there seems to be a very easy solution : when anyone is rescuing an NPC, ask said anyone to 'assign' that NPC to a certain control center for which they 'work for'. And the control center would have been automatically named after the person who built it.
And perhaps even why they did it this way in the first place?
I don't think I'm gonna put up the server for me and my friends if it's gonna stay like this.
I'm actually interested in this topic, even though I'm only playing single player.
The NPC rescue/town building thing is a pretty cool feature, and the #1 reason I'm still engaged and playing this game.
I've rescued 3 npc's, and I have nice little medieval stone village springing up around my main base. I have productivity up to 12, so I get about 5-6 batches of ores, and wood. I have 2 quarries and 1 log cabin. Every time I get ores like iron, aluminum, silver, or copper I get 9 units each time. That's enough for 3 ingots. Saltpeter, coal, and other resources come in smaller amounts. The logs and wood products are kind of pointless, but it helps with having stuff to burn, turn into charcoal, etc.
For the longest time, getting random chunks of aluminum ore from the NPC's was my most dependable source of aluminum ingots, aside from scrounging metals out of cars. I didn't even know there was a mine for aluminum.
