Can anyone else confirm this in their 3+ year game.
Stripped the area around my build area of most trees and bushes to build my base. Left a few just so I wasn't living in a total wasteland. My main save is year 7+ I haven't seen a single tree or bush respawn/start growing again.
I have a year 13 character and a soon to be year 3 character. Trees do not respawn/ grow back.
that's bad, Every major survival game out there, 7DTD, Scum, Subsistence, Forest, Myth of Empires ect.. all have trees either stay or respawn. I think MOE has the best solution, if you leave the stump it will regrow after a year but dig the stump out no more tree.
I'm creating a wasteland around my base and it just looks bad. Hope the devs reconsider.
And this isn't those games you have mentioned and doesn't have to be like them. There's more than enough trees to build a fully functional and efficient wooden base without the need for tree respawn. If having a wasteland around your base is such an issue, maybe you should of considered that when choosing where to cut trees down. Expecting all games to be like each other is a mistake, erring on the side of caution would of been a better approach.
Functional yes, but it's about the game looking good. A good looking game sells. Don't underestimate what people can, want and will build and the hell with functional or efficient.
If you look at Forest it was getting "bad" reviews even from major YT reviews to the point where people weren't buying the game because of the no tree respawn, to the point where Endnight Games decided it was better to do so. Name me a successful survival game that doesn't have tree respawn.
For example small stone and sticks respawn instead of mining rocks and cutting small trees, A solution would could be to harvest those dead logs that are all over the place into two logs and respawn them.
I didn't think I would but honestly I like the game, this game can be big, this is the only game that has all of the survival game elements right and it's only 0.0.4 but clear cutting will just give it negative reviews.
Please dev reconsider.
Definitely agree. The ability to plant trees would be excellent.
+ 1 to that.
Let there be no background regeneration of trees and bushes, but an instrument to plant them yourself is a must imo
