Disappearing Cooking Pot?

I keep having my cooking pot spontaneously disappear from the fire pit whenever I leave base for a while and then return. As I'm writing this I'm not sure if the pot has a durability stat, but twice it's disappeared when I hadn't even used it once. I'm guessing I need to start removing it and storing it every single time I use it. Extremely annoying.

I have had 2 pots disappear while out looting. Both appeared in good shape as their wear and tear strip was green and at 100% Finding pots is extremely hard. I hope this pot issue can be fixed. Great game, but you need to have a pot. I now stash my pot with my most precious processions.

yes stash the pot after cooking is a good idea. but the pots are not so hard to find. usually you will find them in barns .

Don't leave it in, don't turn around with it in. That should fix it.

Read the thread after 2 disappearing pots in my rare loot session, where finding a pot is quite a pain. Today it vanished while I tried to cook water (3 spots with water) and I had the cooking window open. I used a plank as a burning material. Please devs, fix this bug, since it is one of the most unpleasent

Not only the pot disappears, sometimes water and cans diappear too.
this really needs to be fixed.

But theres another way to get a cooking pot: craft it.

In the technology tab you learn

crafting table (needs 1 log and 3 stone)
craft a hammer
craft a crafting table
level up mechanics to level 1 by reading the book or using the crafting table creating things

dismantle some iron hammers, axes or pickaxes you found in the loot by rightclick with a knife in yor hand until you have 4 iron ingots

learn in the technology tab
simple parts (needs mechanics level 1, 1 iron ingot)
cooking pot (needs mechanics level 1, 1 iron ingot)

craft a cooking pot (2 iron ingots)

Yes, I can craft another pot, but on rare loot with 80 days for a year and only yearly respawn of ressources, every ingot counts.
For now, I restore my pots with the Shift+Alt+O Menu.
In this case I don't consider it as cheating!

This is very helpful to me, never noticed that you can also dismantle tools.
