planters have be watered manually,
hydroponics once connected to a water source have to be interacted with by clicking "irrigate" in the UI.

Where is the irrigate located in the greenhouse, nothing comes up where there shows a valve coming into the greenhouse

I have not built one yet, still using simple planters.

How many block foundations does the greenhouse need?

3 x 3 foundation for the green house. Just tested it tonight.

Sunshine Light levels could be your problem, shade does seem to negatively affect your plant growth, I built 8 hydroponic boxes on an outside deck 3rd floor, and 6 normal planter boxes ground floor, some partially shaded by my roof and the others in clear sunlight, seems that the ones in clear sunlight produce more food when keeping it watered and fertilized..

Now playing around with fertilizer, planting with and without fertilizer and letting them grow to maturity

An other player, a friend of mine, told me about the shade and sunlight thing so I've been trying stuff out

3 x 3 for the Greenhouse, thank you for that information LudwigVH ! :)

Still building my greenhouse but when its finished I will be putting in hydroponics planters. They work well out in the open so hopefully that will continue inside the greenhouse.

@ the OP. The 'irrigate' button is on the hydro box. You only have to hit it the once when you plant your seeds and it draws the water from the tank automatically as its needed. Thank god I say. Was getting very tired of watering all those normal boxes :)

Ok got the moisture figured out, seems fellow friends put in regular boxes in the greenhouse, since swapped them to hydro. Still having the issue of no sunlight even on a sunny day, Is the greenhouse being buggy by chance.

Wonder if they changed something with the greenhouse? People are saying you have to put it on foundations but you don't. I placed one yesterday on the ground.

I don't think you have to put it on a foundation, think people are using it as a guide line, 3x3 is the size, so you know how to plan the rest of your buldings around it

yeah, spot on but sometimes it make the planters snap to funny positions but at least its level and square to your building?

i think it will fit on a 3x2 but thats an exact fit iirc

like I sayd haven't got the greenhouse yet, good to know it sometimes snaps funny, but that's where we got the CTRL, Shift, ALT and Z for

Okay, 3x2, good to know

amen brother lol
a 3x3 might look better?

So I built my greenhouse yesterday. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, 3 x 3 is the foundation size if you want a foundation. However it's actually a little bit bigger than needed for a perfect fit with natural snapping. You can manually shift the blue print to center it better though.

With natural snapping, the blue print attachs to the edge where you are pointing. When you go to the opposite side, you will see about 85 to 90 percent of the third row/ column unused.
