He's saying it's okay for games to be exclusive to a particular platform when the platform's owner is bankrolling the production of that game, but it's not okay for games to be exclusive because the developer just feels like it.
So... they shouldn't port the other Valkyrie Profile games because nothing lasts forever? Is that your point?
pretty much.
Pretty much this. Let the consoles make and build up an IP. Example God of War, Horizon zero dawn. never heard of them until they came to steam. But they made names for themselves via a console.
many gamers were happy and got a play station. Not me buy friends.
i doubt someone developed it for 4 years
Hell no. It'll just send SE a message that their fans will buy everything no matter how hard they got screwed. Like FFVIIR fiasco. Two years PS exclusive, then another 6 months exclusive on Epic.
Then what? They released it on Steam with the base price of 70 USD despite the game being almost 3 years old and they got paid millions by Sony and Epic for the exclusive deals.
And the fans bought it anyway (according to Steam's statistics).
What does that mean? People basically proved that SE were right all the time. They can keep screwing you over and over, and you'll buy their games no matter what. So forget it. Forget about convincing them to improve anything, especially by buying their games.
honestly at the time being, you could sign up for playstation plus on pc for 3-6 months play all the rpgs like this game you missed and never need to by them and get them out of yoru system.
Overall thats far easier for PS to do or you as a gamer and you as a gamer on your wallet and time.
I do agree and it is a western logic. I am from the west so I understand. But that doesn't mean 1 2 3 4 is all in order of a story, and if the series starts out bad or has a bad title along the way it could discourage from playing others that are better.
I am a big game collector myself. Hell all spiderman games, transformers, and many hardto find games as well as many good steam game IP's. Saying that, just because they come on steam doesn't necessarily mean a good port.
its good that this game was moved to November. Will still p reorder but Trails of Zero is november that will attract a lot of rpg fans and is similar.
I did play the ps1 VC game, forgot most of it ironically. While I did have a PS. my console years were mostly Atari, Nes, SNES. Ps1 competed with internet, ffxi and university and beyond time.
So i did miss many jrpgs ps1 2 3 and to an extent 4. No regrets. I put a decade in ffxi, wouldnt taken it back.
