Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2

Is there a playtest?
Just out of curiosity, but is there a playtest for this game? Was given a ping by someone on an invite, and it looks sketchy as all hell. I want to know if this is real or someone is trying to make off with my Steam account.

Just look at the "link" you're provided:

http://steampowered.app980000.com

That screams scam.
Yeah, went to Discord, and yeah, scam; a real shame they haven't pinned it as a scam both in the Discord or Steam Discussions page.
https://steampowered.app2627883.com/ same here. Scammers are real.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198900974881 This is there account that sent it to me. Ban them please. I have the receipts.

as a Subnautica Moderator as well as here i can tell you this is a real threat. Unknown Worlds WILL NOT EVER ask you for data like that. They HAVE NOT contacted any play testers as of this post. They will contact you via the E-Mail you put in your questionnaire form.

as an addendum: The UW Team is aware of this and are working behind the scenes to minimize it.

Your recourse is to report it up to steam. Moderators here do not have the tools to investigate this kind of thing.

The people who make these links need to be behind the bars.

Am I going to die or be hacked since I clicked the Link? It was just a white screen that said something about being banned and to reset IP. They sent it from a friend I actually know IRL so I didn't even second guess it.

you're highly likely to be compromised so I suggest to do these in this order.

Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Deauthorize all other devices (do it on mobile if you have the mobile authentication enabled) https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Change passwords from a clean computer or other device
Generate new backup codes https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Revoke the API key (if there is one that you have not placed) https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

there is potential the site itself could of downloaded malware on your system without you noticing so it's best just to do these steps
