Final release likely won't be until 2026/27, or very late 2025, really depends on how far on development is when they release it for Early Access.

A free weekend sounds like an excellent idea for those of us who are unsure to give it a go, really would be bad if people bought it and then didn't like it, imagine the refunds and negative press...

Just wishlist it, steam will tell you when it goes into early access, and then again when it gets a full release.

The recently pinned FAQ says EA will be 2-3 years, so expect final release to be 2027 at the earliest. I wouldn't honestly expect there to be that much to play in 2025, the game mechanics will probably mostly be done so the EA time will be spent mostly adding additional vehicles, logs, story, and biomes. If you enjoy finding the edge of the world and starting a fresh game many times over then maybe you'll enjoy EA, but I don't think it'll be for me this time.
