Helmet cracks
when you take damage that is 50% health or higher, cracks should form in your helmet, that you can repair, but if not repaired the crack should burst and give a permanent oxygen debuff (pda will give multiple warnings to fix it) until you unequip that suit or repair it.

Games are supposed to be fun. Permanent debuffs for mistakes are not fun.

not true permanent debuffs as they said. you can repair or replace it. losing an arm and no way of getting a new 1 will be a permanent debuff.

Not a huge fan of visual overlays that stick to your fov.

But wouldn't mind it too much either.

Would be cool if they had the full range of gurgling noises from the original and if they thought a bit more about the tech used with actual divers.

Though obviously it's never going to be a simulation.

TBH, if the pressure is sufficient to burst a cracked helmet then an oxygen debuff would be the least of your worries.

Well i thought of that but i think i would be really dumb if you just had like 10 seconds of oxygen cause the helmet is cracked and waters flowing in

adding onto this, if you go into a deep enough depth without a good enough suit, your helmet should crack.

I'm a diver myself and that's not how masks or helmets work at depth though.

A diver equalizes their mask to be the same pressure as the environment. It would therefore never crack due to the pressure.

Only subs crack if they're not equalized.

Putting junk of the HUD that obscures visibility is always a terrible design choice.

If the helmet cracks as an effect when you die or something, fine. But I don't want to see that in the game.
