One reason I hate EA, but I'll not make the same mistake again. I will wait this time.
I do have some fond memories of S1 early access as well, like when you could actually dig and modify terrain, the superglide (RIP superglide, we all missed you in launch version), etc
sure S and Bellow zero ea, but again ?
I thought they would have enough capital to at least finish ONE game
I guess we doing this sh%t again
I got into SN EA a bit late, but was in BZ EA from the start. SN EA did, perhaps, kill a bit of the exploration experience for the full game, but I don't regret it. I still overall got the same excitement for new areas and creatures, they just came in spurts over many months instead of 30 hours within two weeks. However, I am *very* glad I was in BZ EA: I got to experience the early (and eventually scrapped) story; after like the second update I spent hours going around the map, trying to find early areas and triggers either misplaced or that they forgot to remove (finding at least a handful of both.)
If I can scrounge up the funds (money is rather tight rn, we'll see where I'm at when it launches) I'm definitely in for S2 EA from the start buuuut maybe I'll set it aside when they reach the half-way point so I have more to be surprised with in the full game. :D
Aye, that's another thing. I haven't played Space Marine 2 yet, but I feel like I've seen half the game already just watching videos. I didn't intend to, I really should stop that, but it can be hard as you say.
I kinda expected better from the former developers of NS1&2+Sub1&SubZ
I will be "waiting" for the e-mail that it's coming out as a 1.0 and I will be a different person with a different life by then, and probably not care either. - I was really hoping this was just an announcement for a full game, as it should be.
One positive: There's some chance that Unreal Engine 5 will be much more optimized and possible to run with more computers in the world by then.
Well yeah, it's pretty different to purchase a AAA $70 game and discover it's clearly an unfinished mess despite being advertised as the next coming of Jesus, compared to buying a game advertised as being unfinished and often priced cheaper as well. If you buy early access you at least know you're basically gambling.
I don't know what some of you expected, they were always going to keep going for the early access model because it keeps working for them and they like the feedback it provides.
