Project Playtime

Project Playtime

The game is NOT dead.
To all who say "the game is dead" and "MOB doesn't care about us", allow me to disprove you with facts.

It costs money to run the servers, if they didn't care about us, they would shut down the servers entirely.

The game is not dead or abandoned, it's in a form of "hibernation" if you will. They are pausing PJ:PT development to work on the main series (Chapter 4).

Once Chapter 4 is completed, we will likely see a Phase 4 for PJ:PT.

hopefully the game won't delayed like the chapter 3
This game does not have servers. Its run off of peer to peer connection, not servers. They spend no money maintaining this game at all. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no word on phase 4 at all. Rumors don't count I want to see Mob Games themselves give a date if you try to disprove me. As for them "working on the main game" sure it could be true, but a lot of devs have separate teams for different games run by the same people. Example being Supercell with Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, etc. I will say Project Playtime does have more of a reason to have the same people working on both games since they are fundamentally the same game. However I do not believe that is the case because they were able to work on the previous phases of Project Playtime while also still working on Poppy Playtime at the same time. There's a pretty good chance that development got cut on this game because it wasn't the smash hit they were hoping for and they were making far more money from Poppy Playtime. That and they just blatantly don't understand their own game and remove what true dedicated fans enjoyed (Huggy Pit, lobby area, chat, grab handles, etc.)

TLDR: Mob does not care about this game at all and have left the game to rot for over a year with not even a hint of an update. Games that care about their playerbase update their game more often and also don't remove content that their fans loved.

No offence, but knowing what happened with PJPT Phase 3 and Chapter 3, it most likely will. Just be ready.

You should watch the podcasts Nized held with some Mob devs, they offer insight that the devs do care. I’ve seen debate on how the servers are managed but they have to spend money on it, so again, they care. If you are here just to say it’s dead, leave now. We don’t want you and your negativity here.

The reason why it hasn’t been updated in a year is because the CEOs want the devs to focus on making Chapter 3 and 4, they had to move the PJPT devs over to the PPT team. As for why they removed certain features, I believe it’s because they wanted to revamp said features in a good way, but because of the need for Chapter 3 and 4 to be finished they just rushed the update and put placeholder mechanics or just removed some entirely. Either way, MOB STILL CARES FOR PJPT AND IT’S NOT DEAD.

A game is only dead when the playerbase reaches 0. Sure it’s dying and it’s not dead. It’s only dead development-wise in a “hibernation” mode. Project currently has ~324 players, which is not as great as its initial launch numbers but it’s not 0, so it ain’t dead.

when chapter 4 releases it will most likely get a few minor updates and then a new phase/major update, just my thoughts.
