Fix this game.

I have and older laptop and this game is unbearably laggy. I usually turn down the video settings but it literally wouldn't let me open settings. And when I skipped the tutorial I could press shop, but that's as far as my cursor could go and my mouse is perfect. I also couldn't press the report bug button either. Hope this gets fixed sometime in the near future.

Try pressing shift + f11, it should make it possible for your cursor to go through the entire screen without that annoying barrier, it might take a while to get used to but it is effective.

How old is your laptop?

You need to keep in mind the minimum requirements of the game; the game demands, at minimum, a GTX 1050 or RX580 on GPUs for example, so if your system has less than that, that'll be what is causing a lot of your visual and menu issues.

The devs said it is not recommended to play on integrated graphics (CPU graphics) but since you are using a older laptop it wont run well. You need a graphics card (GTX 1050 or RX580as), the devs said in a discussion on their server, you can also look for the minimum requirements for the game. I really advice that you don't use a laptop unless it has a graphics card (gaming laptop), and I don't see the devs even bothering to let the game run on a laptop or pc that doesn't meet the requirements. It could also be that you don't have enough RAM to even play the game. So to simply put it you cant play the game on a laptop without the required GPU (Graphics card) and CPU especially if the laptop runs on integrated graphics, so just try to get a desktop that can meet the minimum required hardware.

make sure you go to graphics options in windows itself, specifically choose the exe file and set to "high performance"

Nah, this game is atrociously optimized, especially in Destroy-A-Toy and some areas of Toy Factory. The GPU optimization is good, but the game heavily depends on single-threaded CPU performance. In Destroy-A-Toy, there are several areas where my FPS drops down from its usual ~140-160 to 60 and GPU usage is at 40% because it's so heavily CPU dependent.

And I have an Intel 13th gen CPU running at its max speed of 5 Ghz (which has very good single-core performance), so they definitely need to work on optimization to spread the load across multiple cores.

This used to work on my PC (Windows 10, Intel i5-6600K CPU@3.5Ghz, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 16gb ram). But for a while now it launches into this slide show. maybe 1 frame every minute? I see the mob entertainment logo. then it slightly changes color a minute later. mouse changes to this green hand eventually. maybe once a minute it teleports around screen.

I've gone through several youtube videos and forum notes to try and fix. baffled why it is so broken.
