Is there a way to invite friends?

I saw the trailer for this game and have kept my eye on it for a long time because it seemed like an exciting and unique addition to the asym. multiplayer horror genre. I just got through the tutorial and saw that "coming soon" is marked over the traditional boxes that indicate player icons in your lobby, and I don't see any other way to invite friends from your steam friends list.

Does this mean that the only option is solo queue at the moment or is there still a way to create custom lobbies / half-filled lobbies with friends to queue into public matches?

Crazy to think a game like this would release without being able to create a party. Sure if you have 4-5 friends the "custom game" would be fine but atm I only have one person to try it out with so that's completely pointless. It blows my mind partying coop wasn't a main priority before launch. The store and in game battle pass should have been at the BOTTOM of the to do list...

you can host your own server and invite friends. I just played with a russian guy last night and another guy from the U.S

early access games just shouldnt have a battle pass

early access games just shouldnt have a battle pass

Agreed, although it's just the only way for them to fund their games now these days. While I personally hate MTXs in general, for a free game, I do understand the necessity of it. BUT, that being said, they should REALLY focus on fixing bugs, and seriously should step things up a notch as they're quite slow, while having MTX functions already sorted out.

This is the answer. You can invite while in a lobby. The feature is there, can people stop complaining if they can't open their eyes? Christ...
It's not perfect, but it's there, and it's an Early Access game, it says when you load the game that you should expect some bugs at least. And again, said function already exists, it just isn't conveniently located right in the main menu yet. Don't make it any more difficult than it already is.

Atm i assume that some sort of "gather with your friends" before creating a lobby will come as in the Main Menu on the lower left there is a part that has exactly 7 slots with +-signs and the tag "coming soon".

So i guess that this will be some sort of "invite your friends 1st before creating a lobby" system rather then the current in place system where you have to create a lobby and then invite your friends there with the risk of others join the lobby as the "Friends Only" option seems not to fully work all the time so that still rndms can join in.
