Out of curiosity, did you happen to play Touhou Doom for inspiration? Will there be any mechanics from the mod that will carry over into the game?

No, you should play it. That way you'll actually get something out of it for your own project, which other people want to succeed. That mod is leagues above yours with several chapters but doesn't replace the player's weapons or graphics, but it still has hours more actual content, and a single level alone is a lot longer.

You'd have to create several extra chapters to come anywhere close. Play it. Take it as inspiration. Make your project worth the price.
