Why was the school shut down? Because of what happened in the 90s?

Sorry I kinda played through the game while doing other stuff so maybe I missed something .

I understand Vivian uncovered the mystery of the fire. Are the teachers at the end of the game related to that?

School was shut down after uncovering the conspiracy of what happened as some of the faculty were in on it. The staff at the time covered up the Sunnyside tragedy where several students lost their lives to the fire caused by dropping the Chandelier on Chrissy and most of this was propagated by Mr. Crane who not only broke the mean girl Heather's knee but also by isolating Chrissy by kidnapping and murdering Raoul her boyfriend.

Vivian primarily uncovers Student and Teacher notes before opening the filing Cabinet which tells the whole story.

Once exposed the school was shut down and responsible Staff for perpetuating the the lie were either fired or punished accordingly.

I believe the Teacher that you encounter was around during the incident. I think they were related to the Heather girl that was injured.

The resentful spirit of Mr. Crane. As Amy's locker is the exact same one Chrissy used all those years ago. Which is where that grave mound with the lockers in Vivian's path is in.

So its because the superintendent, who was the mean girl's father, buried the whole story and it like ruined the schools reputation, cause like no parent with a good head is gonna want to have their child attending a school where staff willingly cover up a predator teacher who killed two students and started a fire.

Crane was a psycho obsessed with a student (Chrissy), made an accident with Heather (spilled some oil on diving stand) and also he had some creepy basement tunnels with holding sell with (most likely) burned remains of Raoul in barrel and installed hidden cameras all over the school. Oh, and kept recordings from that cameras in his secret storage under carpet.
All of this was found after the fire but covered by next administration - and came out after events of the game. Thats why school shut down.
