Stuck in Cave

I go into Deep Pudding Cave, ride Eison across the water, come to a place with an altar looking thing and a magic circle that blocks me from going further. What do I need to do to remove the magic circle? Thanks.

have you gotten to the point where you destroy the earth cave one where you first pick up the magic grass and fight the gollems? if not then it wont do anything till you progress past that chapter where you have to destroy it to go to another location.

once you get to that point you can walk up to them and it will ask you do you want to destroy the stone or whatever it is then it unlocks it.

upon unlocking the area you find the area boss chest or two, and a teleporter pad

Story event. Once Black Joe indicates it's fine to remove those barriers, you'll be able to do so for all of them.
