Lowering your own damage

I am trying to get the fox pet, but my lowest attack instant kills it. Is there a way to weaken yourself temporary so you deal less damage?

If you're at the point where Pieberry is one-shotting it, you're best option might be to take one of the low level pets and have them do the damage instead.

If you are one shooting it you might be able to just mind control it without needing to lower its health, it might also help to put mind control on the power enhancing slab and using the power enhancing support stones so that it one shots the fox. Once mind controls power exceeds the health of your target there is no need to lower their health below 30% as the tutorial suggested.

what i do is go in solo no pets and just use the mind control spell. and before it attacks go into defense that way if it misses i dont counter attack rinse and repeat till captured

im glad i came across this. i think i fought it abit early cuz it always attacks me first and after 4 of its attack turns im dead. After defending its 2nd and 3rd attack that was back to back leaving me 12 hp left my pet boar was able to get it below 30% leaving me with only one shot at mind controlling it miss and i was dead. had to retry the fight 5 times the 5th time i finally got it

I did it with turtle pet and it also worked nicely.

The fox is also super resistant to spells, you can equip a weak sword then blast away at the fox with spells to get it's HP low enough without killing it.
