Pirate questline - Spoilers.

There are various possible encounters with a couple of pirates in the southern seas, culminating in them splitting ways and leaving a new (7th) chest in their cave.

Is this the last time they can be encountered? It seems a bit anti climacting for them to declare they will seek their own glory without it coming to fruition. Neither of them feature in the epilogue, also.

Is there something I missed?

I did their encounters late in chapter 7 so I'm wondering if they would have popped up somewhere along on the mainland if I had done their 4 encounters ASAP (chapter 2/3).

Has anyone encountered them after they part ways outside their cave?

after the 4th encounter go back into the cave and there's a new chest with 50000 gold.

Its a shame they vanish from story the way they do. Maybe they will return in doc I hope. Maybe involving mahnil island..
