Got banned instantly for no reason?

Hi, I've got banned instantly when trying to join a game. Is it beacause I'm not playing on Windows? What can I do about the ban?

So many discussions in these forums make me NOT want to play this game.
And
This one just hammered the nail into the coffin for me...

I would hate to have a VAC or Game ban on my Steam account, for not playing on the greatest and most awesome OS of ALL time.

Screw Winblows it just keeps getting worse. More and more people are leaving Microshaft behind them, opting to go with something that better suits their needs.

Hope you are legit and get this fixed ASAP .

Thank you. I do hope to be able to play again. I think that something must have been changed during time I wasn't playing. At the start of the year I was able to play on Linux without problems, even bought all DLCs because game was fun. Hopefully this will get resolved, I will get unban and they will fix playing this on Linux. But sadly I have no information about this. I even sent email about it to support of the game, but didn get response yet.

I just got banned for the same reason (playing from Linux). I also had zero bans on record before this and I am also quite annoyed by the red blemish on my account.
I have contacted Combat Waffle support explaining the situation. Hopefully they'll respond to either of us and rectify the situation.

As someone who is wanting to ditch windows and go back to linux I'd like to know how this turns out.

Gaming is the only reason I'm still on windows and I'm not even sure its worth it anymore.

Yeah I game for long hours. Has something to do with me being disabled and very sick :*(

I am not sure that Winblows is the going to be the best for gaming for much longer.

oh me too im soo innocent and my hamster recently passed away.. and my financial situation is so bad.. maybe u can support me with some money.. and unban me im innocent i was only tempering with game and game guard becouse i dont like winblows and dircet x and i was trying to use hairdryer instead of gpu.. world is so mean and im so innocent.. and this post is so unique in vast ocean of games where everywhere everybody was already doing what u do in this thread. :P u have minimum system requirements on the website where u purchased the game. u r so smart to use linux and u cant read i help u: supported platforms: windows. tempering with game = ban. nothing new. welcome to world.

Then the game shouldn't run if your going to get banned for it...

You shouldn't be punished for something the game let you do,

That is like playing Call of Duty and telling every one its knives only or you get banned !!!
if that is the case then perhaps you shouldn't be able to select a gun.

Or perhaps Ghosts Of Tabor could refuse to run when the cheat protection says you don't meet the requirements.

What if this happened to you !!! Would you want people laughing in your face and saying bad luck cheater / idiot ?.

u have a point. it should be like that. but when i run any and i mean any software in background im risking getting ban.. its normal, it was always like that in any game. for example: firewall, antyvirus, port monitor, webbrowser with some plugins.. any small suspicious program may trigger ban.. and then u report this issue to game admins and await for them to check this specific instance and unban.. unless they specified before to not use this specific software in background or this platform. in Your case game developer specified to use it only on windows so this experiment u did on Your own risk. u cant expect others to bear responsibility or pity u when u did something that u was told not to do.. many ppl use linux platform or vm to cheat in online games thats why in many MMO games u will get ban if u run them on linux or vm and in some cases its not even immedietly but later on when u play. its nothing new. now u know.

Such garbage...
You can have cheats / trainers / hacks / dodgy software running in the background AND not receive any issues with games.
You should only have issues when the software interacts with the game, Otherwise you have committed NO crime.

Being wrongfully accused of a crime is NOT ok.

So yes you can play COD with a trainer running in the background and receive NO ban.

As for ban waves that occur after a period of time (so as to catch as many as possible with the current cheat) It makes NO difference if you have not committed the crime then there should be NO punishment and the same still applies if the anti cheat is going to ban your for an app running in the background it should still prevent you from even launching the game or at least provide a warning that there is an issue with the system that would result in a ban...

IF you going to get banned for running on something other than Windows then it shouldn't run.

As a result this would stop those from taking advantage and trying to get bans lifted by telling stories.

It should be that if you get banned there is NO question that you was cheating.

There should also be a right to appeal and have the evidence of the cheat / crime evaluated by a 3rd party to ensure the validity of the ban... but Its nice to have hopes n dreams.
(If this was any other industry this would be the way)
