Yeah, that is our point, the game is pointless to play, since there is no progressing and you will be stuck with what 4 guns your entire play through? PVE players want a separate progressing mode, so we can still feel like we are playing a game, without disturbing the PVP players and their progression. because yes i do understand that it would be "unfair" to gain gear in solo offline mode then use it in online mode.
Bro this is legitly EVERY game that has "PVPVE"
Hunt: Showdown
Sea of Thieves
DayZ type games
they would only benefit from PVE option only and when you DARE mention it everyone pitch fork and torches you and trash talks you for it....
only reason PVP players attack people for asking about PVE content or want PVE Only options is because they are scared of losing the easy prey PVE players instead of having to deal with other PVP players... theres plenty of youtube videos that explain their mentality to the T and its quite amusing how they ALWAYS attack you with the SAME lines like some weird hivemind....
you can raise the arguement "Oh gawd it'd be SOOOOOO Boring!"
know what sad fact friends quite alot of folks enjoy layed back boring gameplay to screw around with friends on or to just chill...
Ding ding ding, we finally have someone who understand a good game design, one that without altering itself to much, offers a game play mode to capture both audiences. it's not even altering itself, this game literally steals whole sale from tarkov and into the radius.
and learned nothing from tarkov, the SPT mod exists for/a/reason and the devs are missing out on all those sales since they declared it a bannable mod, so what do people do? pirate their game. whops.
You also hit the nail on the head about PVP players wanting easy targets, this is something that comes in frequently in most of these arguments. that fear of losing easy prey
now its not all PVP players, some really do want a fair fight, especially in sea of thieves, there are a few players that will leave if you sit there and do nothing.
Oh well I've stated this before, but basically, this game not only has the tags that can mislead players buying it to believe there is a PVE and single player mode, at least when i bought it.
but it also already has the structure and a dedicated PVE mode as is.
it really isn't asking for a PVE mode to be added, it's more along the lines of asking for progression to be added to the PVE mode so that way it can be played in that way, much like singe player tarkov is.
If you really think about it, any PVP focused game that offers BOT's as a mode will have some players playing it. look at Battle Front, the star wars one. would you say that is PVP focused? or does it also offer a PVE mode for those who want to play it? I'm not being condescending this is just how I type when explaining things.
It's very clear that a PVP focused image is just simply not the way to go, I can give other examples to, such as fortnite and its PVE mode turning into a PVP mode later on, this is an example of the rare case of a reverse, where PVE caters to PVP later on.
games that stubbornly cling to the PVP only when they have the ability to do PVE as well, such as HUNT showdown, only suffer for it in the long run.
Josh strife hayes did a wonderful video breaking down the numbers on PVP vs PVE players, and it was quite telling, basically PVE players are the majority of gamers, (sorry guys) it's just the numbers not an insult. and being able to catch both audiences is better for the game in the long run IF it can be done right, and this is the perfect example of a wide open door for a developer to capture both audiences, with ease.
This is for MMO's but the principles apply to games in general
Even intensly PVP focused MOBA League of legends, offers a reduced progress PVE BOT mode.

It's not pay to win because you still need "skill" it's called pay for advantage
This is my general idea of most game's like this
the developers put the game out there as PVPVE aka you not only have to worry about Players you have to worry about AI.... the moment you add in ANY FORM of AI coming after you and potentially killing you... there is your PVE element..... people see that and will want PVE only...
Take Hunt: Showdown for example... you have the AI zombies/monsters in the map... you have the boss "Bounty" target.. you have a fully operational PVE only setting...
DayZ - You have random spawn zombies/monsters(depending on map)
you have tons of loot.... vehicles.... building.... exploring = perfect PVE only elements...
Sea of Thieves - Loot ... Quests ... exploring = perfect PVE only elements
if it was PURELY a PVP game... these elements would not be there... if im playing Tarkov i want to be 100% fully aware that i hear foot steps... its a player..... not a Bot AI that has God tier snap turn delete you functions because AI's don't have reactions like players do... they dont flinch.. they dont spaz out if jump scared... they dont struggle to aim... they dont make bad choices( most the time)
that they don't realize the damage they are doing to the game by telling PVE players to go play something else. this is the most flawed argument most of them have, as a supporter of a game you should WANT players to keep playing it.
and Hunt showdown has only suffered for it's choices.
Sea of thieves repeatedly is missing out on even more popularity and sales with forced PVP and the entitled PVP players that thing easy PVE players are a god given right of theirs..
its amusing because most PVP only games that excel are PVP ONLY games aka Call of Duty, Battle Field, Overwatch, Fortnite and so on....
I just dont think PVP elitists realize that their quite the minority in the gaming world now.. theres far more folks looking to just chill and do "Dumb boring" stuff alone or with friends lol.... for me personally I played the unholy hell out of "SCUM" because it has a option to play purely PVE and i met quite alot of pretty awesome people on there but most any PVP related content is extreme levels of Toxic cesspools of hate, slander, and degrading...
I used to play alot of PVP games but once the player base shifted into this Toxic Machine
I moved away from it.. it was not fun anymore when your not faced with good sportsmanship just... mean hateful people instead...
