Wow, clever response, way to address the issue brought up and touch base with the issue with modern game development. Rehash, reskin, no innovation, no improvement in the product. You might as well just said, "Go touch grass," at least you would be in line with the devs.
It's like when games get the original version, then II, then III, then spinoffs.
They are NEVER the same game, and that apply here as well.
Super Mario had infinite release BEFORE gettin 3d.
Yet, while the basic mechanincs of jumping and collectin coins were the same, the games were not.
Here we have
Kingdom original: ONE map (random generated) kill everything and win.
Kingdom New Land: SEVERAL maps, lots of NEW upgrades, hermits, mounts, WINTER, you MUST move to the next island.
Kingdom Two Crowns: DIFFERENT BIOMAS, mostly free, CHALLENGES, CO-OP, can go back and forward between isalnds, seasonal cycle.
Kingdom Eighties: STORY DRIVEN, less random generated content, HEROES TO HELP YOU, MECHS AND LASERS, different mechanic for towers and mounts, DIFFERENT OBJECTIVE FOR EACH ISLAND.
Also consider that
a) Kingdom Eighties launch cost is MUCH lower than Two Crowns launch price.
b) as with Two Crowns you can expect both paid and free DLCs to expand gameplay and experience.
So, as with many series, we have
Original game with good basics but limited in scope
Part II with everything updated and new objectives
Part III that expand the game greatly and it is, at the moment, top of the serie
80's spinoff where you have a different spin on the game and an experimental story driven expirience.
Also:
no one forced you to pay the equivalent of a pizza + soda (1 and half hour of "fun") in order to get a 5-6 hours interactive expirience with great music.
As if it's not a terrible game already, they have removed all sorts of interesting mechanics from the previous games to substitute with random buildings that do the exact same thing. Produce coins. That's it. That's literally all they do, a pizza shop, an arcade shop, a popcorn shop, all doing the same thing, producing coins.
This was easily the worst game i have played this year and I love the series. I'll try to forget I played it.
Game is so bad that even though it could definitely have the usual agenda i never noticed that.
You're not looking very hard, there is a white main character in this, and a portion of the Kids are white.
This game was designed and advertised to be a linear, narrative experience, and that's what we got. I don't see the issue.
Why DID you buy this game, without trying the demo, reading reviews, checking the comments section first?
I really don't understand
it was not so hard to check what this game would have been.
youtube videos, demo, Q&A with the devs, DESCRIPTIONS 🤷🏻♂️
Not everybody has nothing else to do with their lives than play demos and games you know.
My only complaint is that I wish it was longer and wasn't so rigidy blind to the story. Other than that, there's so many cool little things about this game.
