Join Basketball Team?

I "thought" I had a quest, after a scout approached me. I went to the stadium, but didn't talk to the coach (low stats). I came back later and when I talk to the coach, it just tell me about joining a game on Friday, but my career is still waiter. I resigned my waiter job, but still no option to "join" or "try out"? Did I fail a quest, do I have to wait till Friday?

I just had this mission. I think it's low league games that you get paid for every Friday when you show up to play.

I guess I wasn't missing anything. Or am I?

I still have a quest to "Join the Team". There was no "tryouts" despite what the game said.

However, I simply played a game on Friday, took MVP and won. No team practice either. Really hope this gets fixed(?) and improved. Great start though...
