Currently own both but only have 20 hrs in 10. I jumped over to ten from DR2 and then 3 months later generations came out and I poured all my time into that.
Personally I prefer WRCG. The hybrid cars drive differently than ten. More weight to them and the physics are definitely different due to it. The ffb is grrat for me I'm Generations. I use a fanatec dd1 and think it's the best ffb besides RBR.
League mode is amazing if you want strong competition in a MP arean.
The sound is not a strong suit of generations at all. Losts of mixed matched sounds, no sounds in specific cars or change of sound with camera changes. etc. I would say I love the sounds of the game to include the menus etc but some of the car sounds take a big hit. 8/10 for the general sound 5/10 for car sounds. Tire sounds etc all good in my opinion.
In terms of stages, generations is the definitive collection of KT's stages. I believe they are missing only two stages throughout their titles. This was a main reason why I just stopped playing WRC 10 and just made the move.
Lastly I have a rally club for all rally games. Still running teams and clubs for generations. If you're interested the links are in my profile!! I can't praise generations enough though and hope you pick it up and enjoy it just as much.
So, are there more stages in WRC Generations? I guess they put them "all" in WRCG (except for 2) like you say? Any different/new, or just collected from predecessors? WRC10 says 120 stages and WRCG says 750 km. Hard to tell what that means. Any light on that would be appreciated.
Also, is the UI based on the same clunky "combine-mouse-kb-wheel" to navigate? I guess I could find a better setup in the options. Now it takes 1 click on mouse, adjust setting with wheel and accept with KB-return to perform one (1) single change to repairs for example, lol.
So, are there no "new" stages in WRC Generations, just old ones collected?
Another thing that bothers me a bit is the vertical "stutter" that sometimes occur going down sinks - or sudden uphills. Is there a way to deal with that? I can easily run WRC10 on highest graphical settings and all turns are perfectly smooth except for those occasional vertical transfers... (Nvidia settings? Any improvement of that particular rendering issue in WRCG?)
So to my knowledge Sweden was the only rally to be altered and added to generations. I don't know specifics but they did do some work on Sweden. As for the other stages I believe it was a collection of stages from the past. Generations has all the rally locations from their earlier games but two. I think it was Poland and I forgot the other.
In regards to the graphics I never had any persistent issues with either 10 or generations so I'm not going to be of much help there. I do think generations is the better game graphically. To me 10 had a grainy filter over it. Don't know if that was able to be sorted out via settings or not. I just ran the game on ultra and carried on.
I might need to boot up 10 again this weekend, I always revisit it from time to time.
I'll get the WRCG and try it out. Always good to have more stages in the combined library of RBR + DR1/2 + WRC10/G + EAWRC 😁
Agreed. If it has anything to do with rally I pick it up. Even beamng :). Just fell in love with rally as a main hobby so I'll never say no to another title. Eager to see your opinions on generations
I have periodic thrust with the throttle so I am basically 20 seconds slower at the same stage and same car in WRCG compared to WRC10. I can see the throttle input fluctuates heavily in the settings menu - going on/off and do not trigger corectly/smoothly.
I have heard about this problem. Is there possibly a workaround or do I need to refund, lol 😒
It sounds like you hit the throttle bug. If that's the case just refund immediately cause there isn't any workaround that I've heard of.
Generations lost dev support a month after release and a lot of people jumped ship because of it.
Sorry to hear though.
Yeah the throttle and clutch modeling in WRCG is absolutely ridiculous. Imagine not getting any power below 4500 rpm. What a joke.
My throttle works as it should. It's a bug for a reason, it wasn't intended to work like that.
Now, I've just started the Career mode and made a few events and coming to Croatia first WRC rally, I simply cannot get off the starting line?? I am locked and can not launch? Is this another bug?
