[Resolved] Cloud save PC/Steam Deck bugged ?
Am I the only to not be able to transfer file save between my PC and Steam Deck ? Cloud sync is activated on both, Steam is saying Up to date on both, but I can't use the save file (my Steam Deck shows 0 save, depsite having played one run already on PC). Is there an issue currently with that ? Any way to continue my game on my Steam Deck without losing progress ?

Alright for anyone having this issue, it is because the game install by default the Linux version on Steam Deck and as such it will have two different set of file saves, as the game does not offer yet multi-platform saves.

To get around that, on Steam Deck, use any proton compatibility layer (experimental might be the best way to go). It will then download the structure folders of the "Windows" version on your Steam Deck and you will get your saves there.

Enjoy.

Wait what? This game shouldn't have a native Linux version as far as I know, it's not listed on the store page nor does the game have a Linux depot according to SteamDB. Furthermore even if it did have a native port, the cloud saves ARE configured to sync between Windows/Mac/Linux...what the heck's going on???

Well when I first got the game on the deck it ran without any compatibility layer out of the box. In regards to saves, they are synced if the game support cross-platform saves, checking at steam.db you can see that there is 2 separate path branches for the cloud saves :

0 ↴
root WinAppDataLocalLow
os MacOS
oscompare =
useinstead MacAppSupport
pathtransforms/0/find Oblivion Override/save
pathtransforms/0/replace unity.qyf.Oblivion Override/save

1 ↴
root WinAppDataLocalLow
os Linux
oscompare =
useinstead LinuxHome
pathtransforms/0/find qyf/Oblivion Override/save
pathtransforms/0/replace .config/unity3d/qyf/Oblivion Override/save

Thanks this worked for me using proton experiential! Do you find that you have to change resolution each time you switch?

This honestly begets more questions than answers. I still really wanna know where the heck a native Linux port of the game came from. I guess you wouldn't know since you never opted in, but that is REALLY bizarre.

No, game config stays seperate for me, only the saves carry over.
