Consistent crashing when first starting game. Anyone else having this issue?

Hey all.

Bought the game a few weeks back and finally am getting around to trying it. When I start the game within 15 seconds it will crash. If I jump, frozen. This happened three time in a row on a restart/reboot. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, all the basics really.

I’m playing on steam deck (or trying to I suppose). Anyone else have this issue? Devs help? Really want to play this game and also think it’s too late for a refund in a worst case scenario.

Hi! Strange, because I played almost all my time (99 runs and 89 hours) on Steam Deck with no issue :-\

So weird. I set the steamdeck to launch the game in proton experimental, then it worked for a session. That update happened yesterday or the day before and when starting a new run, the first time I hit B button, it froze. So we’re back to that I suppose. 😂

What proton are you having the game launch in?

So strange. Thanks for the information. I suppose that all I can do is wait and hope it resolves itself by way of update or miracle. Shame because this was not the cheapest EA game and I’m really wanting to play it. 😖

Fixed by switch to PS4 controller, then switch back to steamdeck controller.

That’s very very weird. I guess now that I think of it, I was using the ps5 controller the one short session I had where it didn’t crash. This is strange.
