The game is surprisingly hard
Im not a supreme dark souls playing kinda gamer but this game definitely does fight back a lot more than other similar games. Once you hit stage 6-8 the game becomes a lot more punishing. Enemies can combo you into each other which can stack up damage considerably. Some minibosses can do 50% damage in a single hit. You get 2 heals in the entire stage which arent easy to get off mid combat. And most surprisingly, checkpoints are single use. Die to the same boss twice and you go back to the very beginning of the stage. Its actually kinda cool and its probably the most undersold part of the game for me.

(This is once again coming from me playing the switch version)

Even fully upgraded gear it's still difficult, so thr Japanese fans are asking for a option to lower down the difficulty.

I got no qualms with that but i think if this game keeps getting support or sequels they should keep the challenge alongside it

Sounds very interesting. Let's see how the PC version here on Steam turns out to be (technical wise). As I do not have any console, I have to wait until December 8. I don't mind that, because I have enough other games to play at this moment (playing Star Ocean - The Devine Force, Persona 5 Royal and Rune Factory 5 at this moment, and probably dive into Harvestella alongside this game later on).

Just a few day's left now...

Yikes. I hope this doesn't turn into another Battle Girls: Time Paradox game. That had quite a few irritating boss fights, and the final boss-fight might as well have been ripped from a bullet-hell game. Friggin impossible.

Though if the main audience (Japan) is complaining, that might be a good sign that things might at least get a second look at balance wise. It is mildly odd that a casual hack and slash doesn't have difficulty levels. They never once seemed to market this as a Souls-lite or Souls-like game.

Theres definitely ways to make the game easier via grinding money for strength upgrades or just playing more reserved, and the game has harder unlockable difficulties, i just think that if youre not someone who plays games frequently this might be kinda rough on the first getgo.

I did hear some people say the later stages and hard mode are straight up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though

Very nice, i hope the game runs smooth 60 fps here and it will be great! I have the exact same hardware as recommended.

I'm up to chapter 12 and this is just false. In most fights you've got one big enemy-spear skeleton or drill skeleton in 95% of them- that actually does something, and a bunch of Mook skeletons that barely do anything unless you ignore them completely. You can spam strong attack and komimi to clear out the skeletons and practically stun lock the big guys by cycling ninja skills, Iyos being a guaranteed stun on the non-boss versions. Getting a heal off mid combat is easy; just run to the other side of the arena. The mooks are too slow to reach you and the leap or charge from the big guys are easy to dodge.

The high damage and forcing you to replay the stage are artificial attempts to try and compensate for the fact that the enemy design isn't good. I'm guessing that's the reason you can't cancel any attacks with a dodge too, even though that decision makes the game feel clunky.

I have died a few times, but all but maybe three of them are because the game runs so poorly on switch it keeps eating my inputs. Anyone playing on PC that can keep their eyes open shouldn't have an issue.
This is all really subjective but for the skeleton thing specifically just running away from them doesn't always work cuz thats literally what the flaming skulls are there for. To keep you moving or from staying in one spot. Not saying it wasnt easy for you but i wasnt for me personally
