And the frogs now got a brand new Sherlock to toy around with so expect lots of "reinterpreting" of the (original) stories.
Basically I think Chapter One marked the beginning of a new continuity, with the remake of The Awakened following in the timeline and all the previous games disjointed from said timeline until they get possibly remade. Consider them as "Universe A" and "Universe B", if you will.
To be honest the old games weren't perfect when it came to timeline and I noticed some mistakes in dates here and there, so if anything the possibility of the series being remade and expanded with new games in the future might also mean a better accuracy on that aspect.
Chronological Order:
Chapter one
SH vs Jack the Ripper
The Awakened
Crimes & Punishment
SH vs Arsène Lupin
Case of the Silver Earring
Testament of SH
Mystery of the Mummy
the Devil's Daughter
The Awakened remake is rewritten so it can be a sequel to Chapter One. If you played the demo, there were some references to Chapter One :D
