Leveling steal to 5

Does anyone have advice for leveling steal to 5? On the run i’m currently at i’ve already tapped the book from swallow + learning from swallow leader, and frankly the xp for stealing things is… quite low.

There's a couple more NPCs you can learn from (Hong Xiaoqi - the recruitable beggar in the starting village and Li Three - the thin one of the two cronies of the general's son) if you want to scrape 200 extra XP.

go to night market auction and steal from the guy there. when items run out just trade and put legendary items. steal again to get lots of xp

steal from the guy who hold the auction before auction starts. he is the guy who can be your ally.

get skill upgrade buff from praying then immobile high profile targets then steal till their empty

Easiest way is to barter/trade all your legendary items to any NPCs whom you can easily steal from (for example, the children sitting in the last row in the academies, the guards inside the magistrate court). Then steal those legendary items back to yourself. You gain a lot more XP from stealing legendary items.
