Preset Character Design?

Judging by all the screenshot and the videos, the protagonist seems to have a preset look that is only really changed through in-game means, right? Given he also seems to have his own spritework in the videos for portraits, we probably can't change him much, if any? Was just wondering if you could make a female character or not.

only change when you join some sect but its limited, most playthrough you would have the same character design till the end LOL... and no female so far, game meant to be a harem
