Delaying joining the Main Sect and Bonding Achievement

Pardon me if this has already been answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it - are we able to delay joining the old man by not entering the Nameless Village at all and doing every other sect before heading there? Or do we get locked out of it?

Also, how do we get the achievement for bonding with all girls when it appears that the first two are mutually exclusive?

You can't delay joining the old man. If you skip the nameless village he will be gone. You can also leave his Sect after the Rescue in the Ice Prison. If you don't save your target, the Old man dies. You can also poison him after he joins but its not a natural exit.

There are 13 girls in the game. You can recruit 9 of them without having to join a sect.

Ye Yinping - Ye Family Battalion
Jiang Ziyan - Chuxiang Inn
Qu Wangyou - Plant sect (not a sect you join)
Miao Caidie - Jiuli Tribe (Mutual exclusive with Melody House unless you know the method)
Yu Wei'er - Melody House
Gu Qingcheng - Melody House
Lady Fu Qing - Duke Kang
Lady Ding - Ding Family
Head catcher lady (Forgot her name) - Crime Investigation Bureau
Hua Qingqing - Nest of Swallows
Ling Mengdie - Confucius Temple
Ya Qin - Confucius Temple

Also they are not Mutually exclusive. They have special dialog if you recruit both at the same time. Just choose to run away instead of helping either at the start.

DO you HAVE to run at the start of the game instead of picking a side? I noted if you leave the constable in the forest, you get a lot of negative relations. However, I don't see any dislike if you choose a side and bring them along with you.

I've not gotten far enough into the game to know if joining one of their sects (Through referral rather than regular means) means you have to oust the other before you max the sect, get everything of note and then leaving (been told you need to max a sect out in order to leave and them NOT hate you).

Hua qingqing also has a persuasion 3 check if you join the nest of swallows following the events at the broken shrine. unsure how one would get persuasion 3 at that point. She asks your opinion on if she is of only average talent. Again I should probably explore a lot more to see if that dialogue can come up in other ways.

Really need/wish the wiki was more flushed out with individual character pages... Maybe I might work on that if I can get edit privileges.

Picking a side does not lock out the other girl.

The
Crime Investigation Bureau quest line will require you to eliminate some small sects. Care is needed to avoid eliminating one of the major sect that could potentially lock you out of the late game content.
The Swallow Next final quest can be tricky. It will require you to eliminate most of the Crime Investigation Bureau NPCs, including Luo QianXue.
You don't really have to max a sect out, you just lose all your relationship points. If you have already gotten all the items/skills, there is not much point for you to retain the relationship points.

You should probably need the persuasion skills before talking to her, in order to progress in her quest line. But I could be wrong.

just make sure the relationship of you and sects remain at 99 not 100. because all the final quest will trigger when you reach 100 trust relationship with the sect. By deducting the trust using give up the quest on board daily. using this method you can fully get all the item and wife in the sect and leave to join other sects.

You can get 1800 Persuade Exp from Shuo Shauren at Cross Hill in the Nameless Region you still need another 600 exp though.

also I believe the list of girls is missing some since one of the ones you can get is the casino lady which isn't listed I believe.

also yeah trying to do Hua QingQing questline and got the 1800 persuade exp for level 3 persuasion and she just keeps telling me about perfecting her steal skills. I got my steal skill to level 3 and she still wants nothing to do with me even though I have 100 relations with her.

You have to be a member of nest of swallow to recruit her. That's after you persuade her and level up your steal skill. Also you can lose the fight with her instead of persuading.

If you pick a side, I suggest taking the other with you or your relationship will drop to the loathe with the other party (which means attack on sight when you visit them later).

You can mitigate this once you unlock Liang Temple later, but resetting relationship is not cheap.

Bear in mind that if you bring the other with you as a hostage, while you might not suffer negative relationship with that party, make sure you grind enough in the first forest for the first conclusion of that story.
