Dugu Jianyi Quest Bug?
I had already found the underground arena before I invited him into my party. I'm unable to put him in my home base because it says his quest is still ongoing. When I bring him to the underground arena, nothing happens. Nothing triggers. Is this a bug? Did I mess up somehow?

You probably skipped the part where Dugu wants you to ask Ou Ye Heng if he wants to tag along. Ou Ye Heng needs to not be in the party for this. After Ou Ye Heng declines to go, you and Dugu can head to the arena.

Remember to bring along Ou Ye Heng in the same party to the arena. You don't need to wait for the arena to open, you can bring the two of them to the arena on any day.

Finding out about the arena earlier does not conflict with the quest.

I just did what you said, nothing happens. I can remove dugu Jianyi from my party and then when inviting him, he asks me if I'm ready to take him to the arena, when I say yes, I don't get anything in my "Companion's Story" Journal. What is supposed to happen? Am I doing something wrong.
