Daliang City - Execution scene when first enter

Hello.
Just need a quick help. When I enter Daliang city for the first time, there is an execution scene. Am i suppose to save the them or just let it be?

Optional to save them. Listening to rumours at the Daliang Inn will still trigger the new companion DLC storyline.

The only thing that changes is that you get some extra Relationship with the specific character when you recruit her (You don't need any relationship to recruit her anyway)
