Does anyone know where to find it? I thought it was going to be in the underground passage in his mansion but there's only that handsome dude there locked behind bars

There's so many things needed to be done, but some are optional.
- helping the son of the old lady in the temple to win the gamble
- help the performers troupe to complete the performance
- help the escort/courier to find the missing cart in the bamboo creek (with that, you'll get the ledger, the horse, and the barbarian witness)
- you also need to fend off several barbarian attacks in several places

Mostly just follow the scripted plot.

I will add, just in case, when you are in the secret tunnel, check every exit of it, at least to know the secret passage goes from the pavillon to the throne room(I checked the end passage which leads out of the city too). This will be relevant as it's kind of a proof by itself, that it's impossible for someone to ignore a secret passage that goes from his throne room to elsewhere.

The 3 persons you help will come to your rescue to clear your name, hence why it's important to help them. Let Lu defend you afterward, as he's a skilled rethorician and will completely demolish the arguments made against you.

-Helping the guy in the casino will also provide evidence that the coins used in the casino are of the said type that the ones found in the barbarian camp. This will be used against Chai.
-During the trial, present your evidence, then tell Chai he's lying
-During the last part when you are asked which escort is strange, answer the first one(you have multiple tries, but every failure will cost you wisdom).
