For Internals, with the updates, I'm primarily using:
- Nine Provinces: for the HP/MP recovery
- Tyrant Blade Technique: 500 Attack, 300 Defense stat boost
- Holy Fire Divine Skill: 300 Attack, 500 Defense stat boost
and either:
- Archdemon's Soul Eating Skill: for Cai
- Confucius 13 Sutras: immune to reflect, useful for a few key battles
I've kind of phased out Confucius 13 Sutras with Tyrant Blade and Holy Fire, plus all the starting traits I've unlocked. There's probably a better option than Holy Fire, but I run with it now.
For Externals, with a sword build I go with Infinity Sword and Illusion Sword. Infinity Sword means droping Holy Fire Divine Skill (Internal) to pick up the Infinity Origin Move (Internal).
I haven't played a Sword build since the update, but I'd probably go with:
- Nine Provinces
- Infinity Sword
- Illusion Sword
- Infinity Origin
- (Internal of choice....probably Archdemon Soul Eating?)
If I do Archdemon then maybe drop Nine Provinces for Tyrant Blade or something.
I'm curious what others would do, I'm not an expert by any means.
Worst comes to worst, you can always replace the files that control the Homeland so you can give yourself more manuals or items. After a number of playthroughs I'm tired of doing certain quest lines for specific manuals, I don't want to do the Old Man's sect for the 40th time to get what I want for a specific build.
If you don't know how to do it then I can walk you through it, I had a lot of trial and error with broken save files before I got it right.
And avoid doing scumbag runs, like siding with duke kang. I hate that greedy ♥♥♥♥ waffle so much.
Plus I'm on my 1200 free run and it's starting to get hard. Any higher and I'll have to start min maxing the steles and treasure house
You can do that, but it's faster to replace the 2 save files that control the Homeland. It takes a few seconds and 1 restart once you know how to do it.
