best martial arts to engrave onto the steele (house)
I put People's Palm, Nine Provinces Manual and Vairocana Solar Sutra. The first two because they are useful no matter which playthrough. Vairocana Solar Sutra because I don't want to spend a long time reading the sutras.

But I'm wondering what else is considered somewhat essential to be put on the steele. There are only 5...

I'm currently playing a sword build, just sect-hopped from CIB to Langya to Confucius to currently Taoist, and last playthrough I made the mistake of not putting Old Man Sect's legendary sword manuals on the steele so now I don't get to use it...

I'm nearing endgame, but not sure what build to play for next run yet.

Also, a bit off-topic but should I put Immovable Mountain armor in my treasure pavilion, and dupe like 4-5 of them or something? I only have 2 at the moment, my MC is wearing it, no one else is wearing the other one as it is still in the treasury. But holy crap, my tanks are getting one-shotted. My MC gets down to half-health in the first hit as well. I'm playing on Nightmare difficulty atm.

My "tanks" are Jiang Ziyan and Man Tuoluo.

I usually put Internals since I'm going to use them on any character, the Externals depend on weapon choice. I know you know some of this but laying it out with more detail for newer players.

For Internals, with the updates, I'm primarily using:

- Nine Provinces: for the HP/MP recovery
- Tyrant Blade Technique: 500 Attack, 300 Defense stat boost
- Holy Fire Divine Skill: 300 Attack, 500 Defense stat boost

and either:
- Archdemon's Soul Eating Skill: for Cai
- Confucius 13 Sutras: immune to reflect, useful for a few key battles

I've kind of phased out Confucius 13 Sutras with Tyrant Blade and Holy Fire, plus all the starting traits I've unlocked. There's probably a better option than Holy Fire, but I run with it now.

For Externals, with a sword build I go with Infinity Sword and Illusion Sword. Infinity Sword means droping Holy Fire Divine Skill (Internal) to pick up the Infinity Origin Move (Internal).

I haven't played a Sword build since the update, but I'd probably go with:

- Nine Provinces
- Infinity Sword
- Illusion Sword
- Infinity Origin
- (Internal of choice....probably Archdemon Soul Eating?)

If I do Archdemon then maybe drop Nine Provinces for Tyrant Blade or something.

I'm curious what others would do, I'm not an expert by any means.

Worst comes to worst, you can always replace the files that control the Homeland so you can give yourself more manuals or items. After a number of playthroughs I'm tired of doing certain quest lines for specific manuals, I don't want to do the Old Man's sect for the 40th time to get what I want for a specific build.

If you don't know how to do it then I can walk you through it, I had a lot of trial and error with broken save files before I got it right.

I just keep saves 15-20 each as the last save of one of my playthroughs so if there's a manual I need for a run I just level it up to 10 with one fight and then put on the stele.

True... I could just keep old playthroughs. Sheesh how come I never thought of that. (Haha I try to play one save only per playthrough...)

That's not a bad way to play. I do it just to shave some grind off. I'm trying to get all the achievements and try all the weapons out. so that's about 8 full runs not counting all the short runs for specific achievements I did.

And avoid doing scumbag runs, like siding with duke kang. I hate that greedy ♥♥♥♥ waffle so much.

Plus I'm on my 1200 free run and it's starting to get hard. Any higher and I'll have to start min maxing the steles and treasure house

You can do that, but it's faster to replace the 2 save files that control the Homeland. It takes a few seconds and 1 restart once you know how to do it.
