Strongest Enemy?
Who's the strongest enemy that you've fought? Not a mob, but the one enemy who was the hardest to defeat for you.
I would say it's probably the Confucius' Sect leader, while going demon.

second fight at the top of the treasure tower

Peak Challenge where you have to defeat four of those old sect leaders -- Langya Sword Pavillion, Confucius, Taoist, and Shifa. The hardest of them all is Shifa with the revive skill after death. Not only is he hard to hit, he hit hard.

If the elder had a revive skill after death in Linlang Temple, he would be number one. Reflect plus hitting hard.

I personally hate the reflection more like reviving and the defense makes the fight long but proper healing items and having decent speed renders Shifa quite a bit easier but I killed myself twice cuz of the reflection also while I can not confirm I feel that hit rate is way lower when you are not adjacent so even more annoying.

I find shifa temple leader to be easiest, the hardest one for me is the Langya Sword Pavillion

if you respec your character into a tank, you just wait for him to attack you and he will kill himself.

Usually Hui Yuan (Shifa temple leader) is the most doable of all the Big Three for me - he might take ages if you don't have any form of defense-piercing, but sooner or later he'll go down.

Zhong Yangzi (the Taoist) was an unkillable machine of death the first times I tried to fight him, then I found out a couple of tricks to deal with him and he's not TOO bad.

So I give my vote to demonized Cai Yuanchang (Confucius Sect), due to the sheer ROFLStomping he performed on my team last playthrough after the completion of the Longevity Tomb quest.

Honorable mention to the guy who stunlocks you forever if you're not ready for him. You know who.

When you said all these guys are doable, which difficulty and I guess, it is not your first campaign?

I just completed my 2nd campaign on hard after abandoning the 1st at arnd level 45. I just managed to kill stun lock guy n got my true ending after joining Langya, Shifa and Ye Family. I had the four extra stat points and 45 trait points for this run.

Now, the sect leaders are kicking my ass all over the place. My level 100 and their level 100 is a world apart.

Do you think it is still possible for me to challenge the sect leaders n win the peak meeting if I play some more in the open world? My stats are HP - 5.4k, Atk - 5.1k, Def - 5.8k. Equipment gives me another Atk 1.8k and Def 800. I am using the sword legendary from Langya. Inner - are the legendaries from Langya, Shifa n Ye.

Or is it time for a new run with a LOT more stats n traits?

Have you already gotten your 15 stat points from Miao Caidie? If you never messed with the Juili tribe that's definitely something you could do to give yourself an edge. Getting the armor that the old man gives to you for winning all the Daliang tournaments is a must have. If you can manage to beat the Shifa temple sect leader and exterminate the sect, the next run you'll be able to pick the Shifa beads which also give more damage reduction. If you take the trait Hardy when you make a new character, and take the mountain node passive for even more damage reduction, you should be tanky enough to maybe withstand them.

Thanks for this. I never encountered Miao Caidie. I missed Melody House. I spent too much time Langya getting my mining n smithing up. Partly due to me being dumb n forgetting to gift the sect leader, I forget to learn his crafting XP.

I will check her out in my new "fun" run. Gonna join the old man's sect this time.

Armour wise, I got my legendary when I killed the Yan general. That armour allowed me to tank a lot of fist damage from Mr Stunlock allowing me to finish him off.

I already burned more hours on this game than it's healthy, so let's see what I remember - I'll add a tldr below...
First playthrough (Fist) I was on nightmare and the big three were definitely out of my league. I played that one blind (I don't think there were guides around even if I wanted to).
I even failed my sect (Taoists) second mission - heck, I failed it so hard I thought the fight was a scripted loss.

At the end I went around punching all the lesser sects I could manage to bully, but had to retire to civilian life in Nameless Village instead of getting any true ending.
Fortunately, I had not maxed any skills anyway.

Second run was on easy (Sword, solo) and... well, it was easy, as it said on the tin.
We still had random traits, so less easy than it would be now, but with some save-and-loading shenanigans I managed to get the three true endings that were available at the time (Jianghu Master, Jianghu Overlord and... Jianghu Conqueror?).

From then on, I more or less can deal with the guys even on Nightmare.

TLDR For some assorted suggestions:
- You can easily reset both techniques and passives (unlike me back then) - don't be afraid to.
- The arena for Jianghu master and the fight areas for conquering sects are big: kiting works if you're fast enough. Wind is good.
- The splash damage from Fire bypasses Zhong Yangzi's damage reflection.
- You can get one more Sword Legendary by dropping your sect and joining the taoists.
- You can get one more Sword Legendary by joining the Confucians - but that one will cost you 15% of your max hp. The trick is forgetting all your inners before learning it.
- You can still go to the western area if you skipped Miao Caidie in Lin'An. You might have to do some shenanigans to be at peace with both the Jiuly Tribe and Melody house, or you can just help the Jiuli Tribe in the abandoned area and go get your free stats from Miao.
- More Legendary internals are good to get for sheer extra stats (I try to use 5 myself): the low-hanging fruits should be the chess game at the Linlang Temple, cleaning the gambling den in Lin'An and jumping off the cliff in the first map after the guards at the western pass. Joining the Taoists and/or the Confucians can give you even more (a few of which you might even want to put in your homestead).
- You already have a legendary weapon and armor. Consider crafting the Emperor's Seal if you already have two purple seals - you can get the third and the recipe at the Jiuli Tribe area.

...ops, I didn't mean for the tldr to get longer than the rant.

Rant away lol Seriously, thanks for the advice. I missed the whole Melody House n Jili bits cuz I forgot about them. I will look out for the third seal in my new run.

By the time I really got out and about from Shifa, it was day 140 cuz I spent a lot of time doing nothing but reading scriptures. After that, I discovered that everything I ran into was level 85+. I panicked and started looking for an ending before enemies got too strong. So, I went the Ye Family route.

That MC was using 4 legendary internals. Even so, I was barely able to win the kidnap thing and against Mr Stunlock.
Nether Nov 25, 2023 @ 1:39pm
I don't remember a source for it, but I think stuff might stop getting stronger at day 100, at least xD
