How to trigger next part of old man's quest?

Ive just spoken with the general, and we left, but now there is no new quest. Im level 37

thats what im saying, these quests have no appeared for me

They wont appear. It's hidden. The problem for one city present itself when you enter that city but WILL NOT give you the quest, you have to figure it out

im pretty sure on my last save i got a message about 9 sects causing trouble

It does appear, you should receive a pigeon that gives you the quest.

thats what im saying, these quests have no appeared for me

mine triggered when I entered daliang city so if you never went there, you can try it

Then did you go to 3 all cities yet or not? on the save that you are playing right now

It's a bug. i test it on a new save, and if you go to chuxiang city before getting the message about 9 faction, you will miss a cutscene where you will be log out of the old man quest line => no leaving his sect => that save playthrough is bugged, restart a new one. After leaving the village you need to go to Daliang and wait until you get the message about 9 faction sect, don't go to Chuxiang until you get that one

I think that is what happened to me. I messed up the order by ignoring the old man's suggestion and going straight to Li'an first. Stayed there for a bit and triggered all the events on my own since it wasn't my first playthrough.

strange, maybe they intorduced the bug in the last patch? I started playing like 6 days ago and wnet to chuxiang city first like instructed by the old man, after the general event, there was no quest. so i went to daliang for the tournament(peak jianghu quest) and when i stepped on daliang i received a pigeon about the 9 factions.
