In my opinion the strongest build is a tank build using the Shifa Temple stuff.
If you read all 5 Rank A books, you will get the Legendary Vairacana Solar Sutra Inner and the Legendary Ultimate Skill 7 Buddha Punishment Word.
Then you can get the Infinity Origin Move from the sneaking/fighting into Taoist' Sect's Star Chaser Pavilion.
The other big thing is to get the really power accessories. Like the Seal of Sky which Guarantees you will parry every attack. Or the Lotus Gem that gives +8% Missing HP/MP per turn.
Then for you passive, you'll want to get the Mountain - Armor Build-up, Thunder - Marked Target, Fire - Thunderous Spirit
If you don't have any good Externals, you'll be relying on the Ultimate to Kill them and any bleed procs you can get (Weapon or Throwing). This will make the battles take forever as you defend until you get Ult and Rage to hit back.
Plenty of ways to get strong, but its a lot easier after you get a bunch of achievements and get the really powerful traits.
Hello friend, i did a run with the main quest sect and another with the sword pavilion, on both i got the shifa temple inner arts for some fights, i find the sword sect most underwhelming, i cant defeat the taoist sect i keep dying to return damage. i also cant find any orange gloves or the Lotus gems.
Strongest in my opinion are fist (especially if you join up with the Old Man at the nameless village) - Stat focus on Strength. There are 3 legendary fist skills that scale with strength. And strength, based on passives, can increase your final dmg by 8% per point of strength higher then enemy. And another 1% per point of strength. Most important stats are ofc, also stats for survival, Int and endurance. And a Benevolence strength fist build can one-shot most bosses on nightmare. (Except those who ignore first dmg received and/or have a revival)
Aside from Fist, Sword is also a fairly solid choice. <- And was the first i finished the game with on nightmare, without joining the old man.
Just a reminder tho, if you die due to reflect dmg (it's probably share), don't stand directly adjacent to enemy. You could also stock up the healing pills in shifa temple, you can use 5 per fight.
You could also destroy a few sects in advance to lower the enemy count on the peak challenge. There are 2 easter eggs there, if you destroy too many tho.
The Langya Sword Pavilion is the easiest place to get some Legendary Swords. I only know there are 4 Legendary Swords and 1 Legendary Spear.
The best early Accessory is Lotus Gem from either paying for Ye Yinping's meal in Nameless village Inn or not paying and trading Hua Siniang for it.
Once you are stronger you can get the Seal of Sky or Seal of People or one of the Legendary ones from joining Shifa Temple or Confusius Temple.
The power you get from Traits is massive, a first run is much much weaker than your MC in a fifth run. Especially the traits you get from endings or things like the God of Gambling Trait.
Also make sure to raise your Stats up to 10 especially in an early run if your dead-set on completing one of the combat endings. You can level your stats up to 10, not including stats from traits.
Str gives you no damage unless you get the Passive Thunder or Fire trait, then it becomes one of better stats for damage.
Int gives you Atk/Def per Level. So at 10 Int and Level 50, you will get an extra 500 Atk and Def. You lose Max MP per point.
Another OP strat you can do is get the Plum Blossom Spear from Wolf Valley. Then get the Yao Family Manual from recruiting Yao Er at the Chuxiang Armory then going to the Abandoned Shrine in Nameless Village area.
Then if you take the Yin Passives - Deadly Strike, you can severely slow down enemies and that should let you beat most enemies without too much preparation.
Definitely Join the Ye Family Battalion to get some good Spear Manuals and good training ground.
Spear will let you avoid most of the reflect stuff since it has range.
Speaking of the Taoists in particular (and unless it changed since I stabbed them, early access be like that), their reflection gets bypassed by the Fire passive splash damage - so just miss them a lot and you'll slowly chip at their health.
Then you'll just have to survive their actual attacks - improvements!
hey thanks for the response, the tank build with the fist looks pretty good indeed i just never seen orange gloves or even do i need one ? My first run i used to sword then changed to the spear. My second run i wanted to go full sword but the sword pavilion dont have much content and doest links to anything, the moves look great tho, maybe im missing something when it comes to my sword build, im running it with high dex with wind and fire for combos and crits, not that good vs sect masters.
Darkshintos, first of all thanks for the amazing guide, i still come back to it alot, and truely you know most of the secrets in this game, iam probably missing some secret place in the nameless area like some island or something, where can i find this and the other orange sword manuals, what you would think is a good build for the sword?
Thank you, i will try that
5 Swords. 1st You can get on every character and is one of the earliest legendary weapons you could possibly obtain on a new game+ after already having Mining/Blacksmith maxed : get recipe by trading Langya Sword Pavillion Leader. 2nd You can obtain by joining the Langya Pavillion and buying the recipe with Points. 3rd You can obtain by joining the Langya Pavillion, you obtain recipe in 3rd Quest. 4th+5th (actually also a version of the 1st) you can obtain after quest 3, when getting access to the weapon pavillion. Each needs a key, you can only obtain 2 per run, 1 after Quest 3 and 2nd by killing the Sect Leader. (Maybe you can steal it.. never tried)
Another nice Weapon (Tho that is stick), you can obtain by stripping it off Ye Yun after recruiting him. A Weapon that scales dmg with your Strength. Its an epic weapon, not a legendary. You do see some more legendary weapons, equipped on some non-recruitables. But yeah.. those aren't obtainable yet.
Langya Sword Pavillion has its Legendary Swords, You can get the Legendary Sword Manual Nameless Sword from the leader, Epic Sword Manual Dugu Nine Sword, Epic Sword Manual Windless Sword and Legendary Inner Manual Heaven Sutra from doing the 2nd quest perfectly, and the Ultimate Move 10,000 Swords
Taoist Sect has the Legendary Sword Manual Infinity Sword from the sect leader, Legendary Inner Manual Infinity (If you have 1 Int) or the Ultimate Skill Infinity World.
You can also get Epic Sword Manual Taichi Sword, and its associated Epic Inner Manual Nether Taichi
Then you can get Legendary Inner Manual Infinity Origin Move from the tower in the back. You don't need to be part of the sect for that.
You can then get Emperor Yin Yang from the Ice Demon Quest when you are part of the sect.
That should give you 8 Skills, with 4 being Legendary.
Then you can add in the Legendary Inner Manual Vairocana Solar Sutra from Shifa Temple.
You can also get Legendary Inner Manual Prayer Manual from Linlang Temple in the Nameless village area. Just use the Chess/Go board out front and the manual will be on top of it.
There's also a Legendary Sword Manual you can get in Confucius Temple but you will lose 15% of your Max Hp to get it.
Overall this is probably the strongest you can get with swords. Swap in more Externals for damage or more Internals for Tank/Defense.
Accessories : Seal of the Sky gives you 100% Parry - You get this by going to the Yan Yun Iron Army through helping Wan Yan or Joining Ye Family Battalion.
Lotus Gem, visit Nameless Inn around Noon while Sua is there (Alive and not in party) and Yinping will come. It will be an Appraisal item at first, you can get it appraised at a pawn shop.
The wiki also has a bunch of other non-sword skills and inner if you want that info: https://heros-adventure-road-to-passion.fandom.com/wiki/Martial_Arts
tank builds are solid but the do ♥♥♥♥ damage.... and if they do good damage is because you are getting oneshoted. at least in high difficulties don't forget some boss fights have 30000 hps (including their revivals ) if you gonna do 30000 hps as reflect damage you need to tank 180000 hps damage... so yeah you gonna be waiting till tomorrow morning on each fight as for not dying from reflect those are the things i do, i get the hardy trait and the first step from mountain tree, this reduces reflect damage by 40% and since reflect is already 30 % of your damage that means you only get 16% of the damage you do if you have a 14+ con which you should it should be no problem (you can also include your stats by going out with melody sect leader at midnight at full stamina she increases all attributes by 250 exp enough to level all of them to +10 stops after level 10). also if you become disciple of the master he gives you an armour that reduces incoming damage by 45% add the above and you get 85% damage reduction on your damage in total.) in all reflect was like 200 -400 points damage for me and i was hitting for good 6k each time.
When talking about OP traits, the strongest has to be Effective Learner. With the Old Man skills you get 200+ in all External Stats. That makes you unkillable and deal crazy damage.
With that and the armor, and Seal of the Sky that gives 100% Parry, I only took around 200 Damage from the Level 99 Sect Leaders on Nightmare. I also had 5k HP and the +20% Missing HP/MP Inner Art from the Old Man.
Weapon Master, Perfect Adaptation, and Ravenous Reader combo lets you ignore any Weapon/Manual Restriction. Basically Easy-mode if you know how to get the good skills/weapons early.
The Other best Combo IMO is Power of Money and God of Gambling. Throwing Weapons apply the 250 true damage from God of Gambling. The damage gets increased by any +% Final Damage modifier.
All of them together makes the game super easy.
This game encourages you to start new runs after you unlock a few things.
